Rollerdrome Roll7 and Olliolli World have been mysteriously eliminated in Steam.
While there has not been a formal word on why skating games acclaimed by critics have taken out of the sale in Steam, both games had been published on the Takewo Interactive Independent Editorial Seal, private division, before it was sold to an unknown buyer, who is believed to be believed to be Haveli Investments, towards the end of last year.
None of the games appear if you are looking in Steam, while the use of direct URL informs you that the games “are no longer available in the Steam store”, despite the previous Roll7, Olliolli and Ollliolli 2 games: welcome to Olliwood are still listed.
Interestingly, both the Rollerdrome and the world of Olliolli are, at least for now, they are still available at the PlayStation store. While they still list the private division as an editor in those pages, the missing Steam pages, which were modified in silence last week, have been updated to replace the private division of the editor with 2K.
At the time of writing, it is not clear if this is just an oversight, a license problem or a sign that the Roll7 portfolio did not transfer to the anonymous buyer and remains with 2K.
The Grand Theft Auto and Borderlands Take-Two Interactive editor announced the sale of its private division of the Editorial Label centered on the indie in November 2024. In addition, the company also confirmed the closure of the interception games of Olliolli World Developer Roll7 And Kerbal Space Program 2, six months after the CEO Strauss Zelnick insisted: “We do not close those studies.”
