Buffalo, NY-Los Bills continued a tendency to accept extensions with their own Draft team, signing the defensive wing Greg Rousseau to an extension of four years on Saturday.
The $ 80 million extension includes $ 54 million guaranteed, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN.
A 2021 first round draft selection by the Bills, Rousseau was ready to play with his fifth year option. Instead, the agreement keeps it with the team until 2029.
“My heart has been here … since 2021 and I really didn’t want to go anywhere else,” Rousseau said at a press conference on Saturday. “So, I mean, we have many great boys in our team, our defense, our line D. We are very tight. I am excited to return to the guys like ed. [Oliver]Daquan Jones, aj [Epenesa]. I mean, it is a blessing to be close to boys like that. It is not so everywhere. So, I was ready to return. “
Rousseau, who turns 25 on April 5, joins the open receiver Khalil Shakir and the Supplier Terrel Bernard when the Bills Draft chooses to accept extensions with the team until 2029 in the last two weeks. The pass corridor said the contract conversations began before the 2024 season and were then collected after the season ended.
In his four seasons with the Bills, Rousseau has 25 captures, 15 defense passes and 66 hits of Mariscal de Campo. He recorded 53 pressures last season, fourth more in the NFL. It is one of the seven players last season with a 25% Stop victories rate and a rate of save gain of the 15% pass (minimum 400 passes).
“I thought Greg did a good job, he had some good games for us, he still showed some ascension,” said General Manager Brandon Beane at NFL Combine. “I don’t think I have necessarily reached anything or anything. I think Greg needs to continue taking another step. We would like to see Greg be a two -digit bag, and you need, you have to get that quartback.
Since he joined the team in 2021, Rousseau leads the Bills in Field Marshals, sacks and batters (11). He will tie a maximum of his career in captures (8) and had a race in the successes of Quarterback (24).
The Bills also signed the Largo Reid Ferguson Pargo, who turns 31 on March 24, to an extension of four years on Saturday. The oldest bill, has played regular seasonal games for the team since 2017, will become a free agent.
Other eligible bills for extensions include the corridor James Cook and corner Christian Benford. The Bills are working to get under the salary limit at the beginning of the year of the League on Wednesday.
