World of Warcraft Player Housing Early Access Now Live — A Big Step for Azeroth Homes
Blizzard’s long-anticipated World of Warcraft player housing feature is officially in early access, giving WoW players their first real chance to claim a home in Azeroth. The new system, part of the Midnight expansion’s pre-launch content, lets players decorate, customize, and live in personal houses and neighborhoods — something fans have waited more than 20 years for.
Housing Early Access Begins with Patch 11.2.7
With the release of the “The Warning” (Patch 11.2.7) update, World of Warcraft has started rolling out Housing Early Access for

players who have pre-purchased any edition of the upcoming Midnight expansion. Early access began on December 2, 2025, allowing eligible players to:
-
Join a neighborhood (public or guild)
-
Claim a house plot and begin decorating
-
Complete a housing tutorial
-
Collect and place decor items from quests, vendors, professions, achievements and more
Players who haven’t purchased Midnight yet can still visit neighborhoods and collect housing items, but they cannot claim a home or join a neighborhood until they own the expansion.
Build, Decorate and Customize Your Home
Housing in WoW goes far beyond a simple player shelter. The system allows you to:
-
Decorate using hundreds of items, categorized by style, culture, lighting, and more
-
Scale, rotate, dye, and arrange furniture and decor
-
Level up your house by expanding your collection and unlocking more options
-
Choose different neighborhood types and plots for your home
Neighborhoods — large, persistent shared areas — act as hubs where multiple players live, work together, and show off their builds. Guild neighborhoods let friends band together and customize shared space.

A Long-Awaited Feature for the Classic MMO
Player housing has been one of World of Warcraft’s most requested features for years, and the Midnight expansion — launching fully on March 2, 2026 — marks the first time this feature appears in the game’s long history. The system is already driving enthusiasm among fans, especially as early access players begin sharing elaborate builds and creative designs in communities online.

Blizzard is continuing to expand and refine housing, with future updates expected to add new neighborhoods, exterior themes, and even collaborative features.
