Life is Strange: Reunion Officially Announced — Max and Chloe’s Saga to Conclude in March 2026

Square Enix and developer Deck Nine Games have officially revealed Life is Strange: Reunion, a new installment in the beloved narrative adventure series that will bring the decade-long story of Max Caulfield and Chloe Price to a dramatic conclusion. The game is scheduled to launch worldwide on March 26, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Microsoft Store).

Reunion was long anticipated after the Life is Strange community caught early leaks and rating board listings earlier this year. Now, with the official announcement and release date confirmed, longtime fans are getting their first glimpse at the next chapter that reunites the franchise’s most iconic protagonists.

A Full-Length Adventure Reuniting Max and Chloe

Unlike the original Life is Strange, which was divided into episodic chapters, Life is Strange: Reunion will be a full-length narrative experience — not a collection of episodes — and will let players experience the story of both Max and Chloe as playable characters.

Set after the events of Life is Strange: Double Exposure, the plot begins at Caledon University, where Max works as a photography instructor. After a devastating fire destroys the campus and claims the lives of her friends and colleagues, Max is forced to use her time-rewinding powers to go back three days and uncover the cause of the inferno. To her surprise, Chloe Price returns, drawn back into Max’s life and in need of her help — a consequence of the timeline changes made in Double Exposure.

For the first time in the series, players will be able to switch between Max — using her classic Rewind ability to manipulate time and solve narrative-driven puzzles — and Chloe, who brings her Backtalk ability and raw attitude into play, influencing characters and situations in ways Max cannot.

This dual-protagonist structure aims to offer fresh gameplay dynamics while still honoring the emotional storytelling the Life is Strange franchise is known for.

Release Date, Editions, & Pre-Orders

Life is Strange: Reunion will launch on March 26, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series-X|S, and PC (via Steam and Microsoft Store).

Pre-orders are currently live, and multiple editions will be available:

  • Standard Edition – Base game (~$39.99 / £44.99 / €49.99)

  • Deluxe Edition – Includes digital mini-soundtrack, artbook, comic, and behind-the-scenes documentary (~$49.99 / regional pricing varies)

  • Twin Pack – A bundle with Reunion and Double Exposure (~$59.99)

  • Collector’s Edition – Premium physical box set with vinyl soundtrack, art cards, and more (~$99.99-£104.99)

Additionally, players who pre-order any edition before May 5, 2026, will receive bonus Max and Chloe Classic Outfits DLC.

Narrative & Series Legacy

Life is Strange: Reunion is described by Square Enix as the emotional finale to the Max and Chloe saga, bringing closure to a relationship and story arc that began with the original Life is Strange in 2015. While the series has since expanded with standalone titles like Life is Strange 2 and True Colors, Reunion returns to the franchise’s roots with the two characters who defined its early success.

Longtime fans have expressed mixed reactions online — with excitement from those who have long wanted a definitive reunion of the beloved duo, and skepticism from others worried about how past narrative choices might now be reconciled. Social discussion around the announcement on platforms like X reflects both nostalgia and debate about the direction of the story.
