The Los Angeles Rams are signing again to the Mariscal de Campo Jimmy Garoppolo to serve as support for the head Matthew Stafford, the sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN on Monday.
Garoppolo was generating interest from other teams, sources told ESPN, but like Stafford, he chose to return to Los Angeles. Stafford agreed to a restructured agreement to return last month.
Garoppolo, 33, signed a one -year contract last March to serve as Stafford’s support during the 2024 season. After fulfilling a suspension of two games for violating substance policy to improve the performance of the NFL, Garoppolo was the field marshal number 2 of the angels.
The end of the regular Rams season began after Los Angeles had secured the NFC West. Garoppolo completed 27 of 41 passes for 334 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in a game in which the Rams rested several key headlines in the offensive.
In 82 games for 11 seasons, Garoppolo has completed 67.4% of its passes for 15,828 yards with 96 touchdowns and 52 interceptions. Garoppolo spent the first three seasons of his career with the New England Patriots, who selected him in the second round in 2014 to support Field Marshal Tom Brady.
The Patriots exchanged Garoppolo in 2017 to the San Francisco 49ers, where he spent six seasons and completed 67.6% of their passes for 13,599 yards with 82 Touchdowns and 42 interceptions. Garoppolo spent a year with the Las Vegas Raiders before being released last year with two remaining years in his contract.
