Hamilton Academical says they are “amazed” after a deduction of 15 points for violating the rules of the league they were confronted by the descent of the Scottish championship.
The SPFL revealed that the club had been accused of four crimes, and says that an independent disciplinary court found the guilty Lanarkshire club.
John Rankin’s team was seven points from the bottom of the Airdrieonians on the second level, but their punishment means that they are now drifting with nine points to play and could be relegated as soon as this weekend.
According to the League, crimes relate a failure to pay six players and not act in “good faith” when it comes to SPFL about the elimination of a transfer prohibition after previous financial problems.
The other positions are related to:
-
Give incorrect information to the League about the property of the Club Stadium
-
A late presentation of your membership criteria for the season
-
Do not comply with the required standard of the Fa Scottish license to participate in the League.
In addition to a point deduction, the club has been fined with £ 9,000, of which £ 2,500 are suspended waiting for more indiscretions.
In response, Hamilton said they are “amazed and disappointed by the decision of the court.”
“We are waiting for the written reasons why the Board will meet to consider an appeal,” added a statement.
“Until any appeal process is concluded, we will not make more comments.”
It was revealed earlier this month that Hamilton faces his new house in Douglas Park because the previous owners of the club rent them.
They face Queen’s Park at home on Saturday and need to win to avoid immediately falling to League 1.
However, they have the right to appeal the decision to the Scottish FA, which promotes the possibility that the campaign ends without knowing what league accidents will be in the next season.
