Marc Skinner accepts that “he will not please everyone” at the Manchester United fans base after a mixed reaction to the announcement of his new contract.
The 42 -year -old Skinner manager recently signed an extension of two years until June 2027, with the additional 12 months option.
United is third in the Super League female with the best defensive record of the division.
They have also reached the semifinals of the Women’s Cup, where they play local rivals in Manchester City on Sunday.
When asked if he has silenced his critics this season, Skinner told BBC Sport: “I don’t think about it. Really respect everyone and their opinion.”
But knowing that some followers would like to see it replaced is an uncomfortable truth.
“It’s not nice to hear, of course not,” said Skinner. “I am human. My energy is always for my team and for fans, it is not to try to show that people are wrong.”
Skinner is the current manager of greater assistance in the WSL, since he took charge in 2021.
After guiding United to a fourth place in their first campaign, then they finished second at the WSL to ensure a place in the Champions League for the first time.
Skinner then took the team to his first great honor to win the FA Cup last year.
He feels that his team is in an ascending trajectory and wants to drive them, regardless of whether their work is qualified by some sections of the fan base.
“I respect them, I respect your views, but I’m still going to do my job as best I can and try to improve people every day,” Skinner said.
“They want their team to win and if I can deliver it to them, it doesn’t matter if they like what I do or not.
“I have been very proud of what the team is doing this year and I want to make sure of fans and for the entire club that I am the figure of chewing that pushes us towards continuous success and builds a team that can be solid for many years.”
