Marvel Rivals players blast NetEase for poor moderation of racist and sexist slurs

The players have criticized the goalsa for a lack of perceived moderation in Marvel’s rival lobbies.

“Forget about the queue of losers, I want to get out of the racist tail,” Redditor Murkwan wrote in the official Subnet of the Marvel rivals. Since then, the publication has been blocked and eliminated, but not before ensuring 1400 likes and almost 500 comments, most of which agreed with op.

While many players seem to have pain simply to play certain characters (mainly Jeff The Landshark), others say they regularly listen to racist and sexist insults, but “they have not received a notification of prohibition for weeks” even when they report offensive players (thanks, Thegamer).

“The problem is that this puts you in,” said a player, responding to a suggestion that players should “silence, inform, block” and move on.

“As a woman, I do not use microphone unless with my friends. If I talk to random teammates, I will always receive a little insult or unpleasant comment. I simply ignore, inform and block, but it is not pleasant at all. It is not like ‘haha what a loser’. First time. The first time. The third game you hear something as if you want to stop playing even if you love the game.

“So, in cases of racism, it is the same,” they added. “Yes, ignore those losers, but reading or listening to insults again and again makes you really want to play anymore.”

“I’m fed up with people telling women what they need to do to counteract the harassment they are experiencing as if that were their work,” added another respondent. “That is just the digital version of telling women not to dress in a specific way or ‘ask for it.”

The black players also contributed to the thread, and many admitted that the “communications stay with Randoms” completely, even in the classified game.

Other players have taken X/Twitter, with this commentator writing: “Really? Asked a player, including a screenshot of an extremely anti -Semitic user name.” Great fan of the game, but seeing this average game is disgusting. “

“It’s even worse [because] I can’t leave the game without being penalized and having my own game experience suffering, so I just have to play with this person, “they added.

“When you think about it, it’s even more strange when it’s in a Marvel game,” U/FistfightCrash said.

“Stan Lee was quite clear that what was originally the X-Men was the civil rights movement. This is a Stan Lee event of the 60s:

‘We are going to place it on the line. Intolerance and racism are among the most mortal social evils that affect the world today. It is totally irrational, evident to condemn a complete career.

“If you are racist, how could you think that this is your space?” They concluded. “Unless you are really old, Marvel was probably vocally anti -racist before you were born.”

We have communicated with Netease to comment.

Last month, Notease reduced jobs in his creative team of Marvel Rivals based in the United States, despite the significant success of the game, claiming that the decision was made to “optimize development efficiency.” He also insisted that “he has not faltered in his global expansion plans” in the midst of reports that he is downloading “as much as all” from his playgrounds abroad due to the increase in costs.
