Newcastle United post £ 11.1m loss but income increases by 2023-24

Newcastle has announced a loss of £ 11.1m in its 2023-24 accounts, a significant reduction in the loss of £ 71.8 million the previous season.

The improved figures were helped by a 28% increase in revenues to £ 320 million, largely to their participation in the last season champions, and a gain of £ 70 million of the sales of players.

Newcastle sold Allan Saint-Maximin next to Saudi Al-Ahli in July 2023, while Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh were high-profile outings shortly before the accounting deadline of June 30, 2024.

That helped balance a significant summer transfer expense 2023 In characters such as Harvey Barnes for £ 38 million of Leicester, Sandro Tonali de Ac Milan for £ 55 million, Tino Livramento de Southampton for an initial hall of £ 32 million and Lewis Hall of Chelsea for £ 28 million.

The URACAS say that these improved figures ensure that the club has complied with the gain and sustainability rules of the Premier League (PSR).

“We are committed to sustainable success and we have started 2025 in a solid position,” said Executive President Darren Eales.

“Our progress has been supported by a diligent work on and off the field. Return to the Champions League for the first time in more than 20 years was very memorable for all those who connect with the club, and has clearly on the rise financially as we continue to grow.

Eales warned that the club may have to sell players when announcing their 2022-23 figures last year, which followed a loss of £ 70.7 million in 2021-22, when the Saudi Public Investment Fund assumed the position of the club.

Under PSR, Premier League clubs can publish losses of up to £ 105 million during a three -year report cycle, although expense in academies, infrastructure and community projects are exempt from calculations.

Newcastle ended seventh in the Premier League in 2023-24, losing a place in Europe. They also reached the quarterfinals of both competitions of the domestic cup, but were eliminated from the Champions League in the group stage.
