“In Leyton Orient we have a strong relationship with Tottenham Hotspur and it was never my intention to say something that would endanger that. Its manager, Ange Postecoglou, is a world -class coach and I want to apologize for my comments and wish my spurs to all Better for the second half of the season. “

Tottenham has a close relationship with Orient, with the players of the academy Jamie Donley and Josh Keeley on loan at the club until the end of the season, while the former Spurs captain Harry Kane had a loan spell there at the beginning of Your career.

Tottenham’s women also regularly play their games at home in the Brisbane Road de Orient field, which is less than five miles from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Wellens has been in charge of Orient since March 2022 and took them to the title of League Dos the following year.

His defeat against Stockport was the first in 12 games, although they remain in the play-off places in the goals difference.

They face the Premier League Manchester City champions in the fourth round of the FA Cup next weekend.
