The founder and president of Insomniac Games outgoing, Ted Price, said Sony rejected a launch for resistance 4.
Speaking during an interview with Kinda Funny to celebrate his career at the developer, Price was asked about what game he wanted to have worked, but did not work. Price revealed that at one time, the study launched Sony in a fourth main entrance in the Resistance franchise.
The resistance franchise was a series of alternative handles in the first person in history. The first game in the series was a launch game for PlayStation 3, the console that would house the entire main franchise.
“It was a wonderful concept. It was the result that many members of the Insomniac Games team are passionate about extending history, ”said Price.
“I think the resistance establishes a great alternative history base where anything can happen with the chimera and where they are going and what are its origins. We spent a lot of time working in the background and a rain of ideas about where we could take this in the future. ”
As for why Sony rejected the launch, Price states that the “market opportunity and opportunity” for the game was not correct at that time.
Since the conclusion of the resistance franchise in 2011, Insomniac Games has become one of the most prolific studies in Sony’s alignment. In the decade since then, the study has launched three Ratchet and Clank titles, three Marvel Spider-Man games, Sunset Overdrive and other smaller titles.
From 2025, the series is largely inactive. Because most of the games in the series were launched in the PS3, they cannot be played on PS5. The series was never remastered for PS4 despite years of rumors.
In 2022, the director of Days Jeff Ross said he launched a rebirth of the open world of the resistance franchise.
