AFG vs BAN – Mushfiqur injured outside Afghanistan ODI with broken finger

0
Mushfiqur Rahim will miss the rest of the ODI series against Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates after suffering a finger injury in the series opener which Bangladesh lost by 92 runs.

“Towards the end of Afghanistan’s batting innings, Mushfiqur injured the tip of his left index finger while holding wickets,” team physiotherapist Delowar Hossain said in a BCB statement. “A post-match x-ray confirmed a fracture in his left index finger near the DIP joint. He is under conservative treatment and is unavailable for the second and third ODIs. Further updates on his condition and expected recovery period will be provided in due course. ”

After suffering the injury, Mushfiqur batted as low as number 7 as Bangladesh lost their last eight wickets for just 23 runs. He was stumped by 1 out of three balls.

Bangladesh, trailing 0-1 in the three-match series, has not named a replacement. With Litton Das (recovering from fever) also not in the team, Jaker Ali is expected to take over groundskeeping duties.

With Bangladesh set to tour West Indies for a multi-format tour of two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is later this month, Mushfiqur’s finger injury also leaves question marks over his availability for Tests and matches. ODI. He retired from T20Is in 2022.

After the Afghanistan ODIs conclude on November 11, Bangladesh will fly to the Caribbean for a tour game in Coolidge starting on November 15 before the first Test begins in North Sound on November 22. They are yet to name a team for the West Indies tour. .

Agatha All Along is over, but the witch’s on-screen journey has just begun according to series creator Jac Schaeffer.

0

Warning: Spoilers ahead for season 1 of Agatha All Along.

If I had to name one big TV surprise that premiered in the second half of 2024, I would have to choose Agatha All Along. Sure, I’ve enjoyed my fair share of Marvel Studios’ Disney+ shows in the past, but we’ve been feeling down about all of this for a while, and this specific series seemed to come too late after WandaVision captivated most viewers. in early 2021.

With the entire season (it was planned to be a limited series) now behind us, it’s time to reflect and discuss what Agatha and [redacted]The on-screen future could be after the finale left a door wide open and perfectly closed this dual character arc in a satisfying way. For Marvel.com, series creator Jac Schaeffer had some answers… as well as a vague tease.

Manage cookie settings

“What I love about episode 9 is that we get to his truth… This is a character who was presented as a walking lie. The show is in many ways a lie: it’s very theatrical and a lot of it is performative. and about the use of masks and costumes,” Schaeffer said of the ending, which was strange because it served as an epilogue for both Billy Maximoff and Agatha Harkness, giving both characters enough room to breathe and grow a little more after the main plot. had been wrapped.

In fact, the finale allowed Kathryn Hahn to do something completely different with the twisted witch as we learned more about her relationship with Death (Aubrey Plaza) and the death of her son, Nicholas Scratch. The writers also didn’t let Harkness get away with all the evil he had caused; He gets a (beautiful) deserved death, but that doesn’t mean his journey is over. His new ghostly form will remind many MCU fans, players, and comic book readers of his role in Midnight Suns, and that offers a lot of intriguing possibilities for the more fantastical, magic-oriented side of the universe.

“It wasn’t about killing off the character… It was about the evolution of this character,” the showrunner joked, later confirming that there was more to come, whether it be a surprise second season or a role elsewhere, especially now that she will join Billy (aka Wiccan) in his search for his lost twin, Tommy. “I still feel like there’s more path to explore with Agatha as a ghost… Get ready.” We hope she can also mentor and guide the Midnight Sons whenever they reunite in the MCU.

Kylian Mbappé at Real Madrid hasn’t worked out yet: what should the French star of Los Blancos do to start working?

0

Real Madrid’s problems continue, as does Kylian Mbappé’s less than ideal start in the Spanish capital. Los Blancos lost to Milan in the Champions League, shortly after the defeat in El Clásico against Barcelona. Los Blancos have now fallen behind Barcelona in La Liga and are also failing in the Champions League. Growing pains were expected to arise with Kylian Mbappé joining the team this season from Paris Saint-Germain, but the balance in the team is not there.

It is a difficult job for Carlo Ancelotti to find the best combination of players who fit together best, but he will need to get to the bottom of it if Real Madrid are to win back-to-back Champions League titles. CBS Sports analyst Thierry Henry focused on one of those problems affecting Los Blancos.

“It is almost always [Jude] Bellingham trying to make runs makes the team play. He is still the one trying to break the lines. Who runs and tries to reach the goal?” Henry said. “It’s Bellingham who is doing Mbappé’s job. This may happen from time to time, but not all the time. Do you think Bellingham likes to do these races to stretch the team? “He does it because he has the desire and the will to do it.”

Last season, playing with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, Bellingham had to be the player who entered the box late because there was no recognized striker. He did it to great effect, scoring 23 goals and assisting 11 more, but this season things are different. Mbappé was brought in to lead the embargo, but he tends towards the left side, where Vini Jr has things covered.

Another Real Madrid legend, Karim Benzema, already said it Mbappé needs to forget about the left wing and focus on playing as a nine and that adjustment will pay dividends for Real Madrid when it happens. Bellingham being able to make those runs into the box is a great skill, but it shouldn’t be something he has to do constantly.

Mbappé will not be a strong nine in attacking play, but with his devastating pace and finishing ability, Madrid should be able to get more out of him leading the attack.

“You don’t win games like that. You don’t win games with your 10 breaking the line, coming back, trying to stop his run, trying to defend, trying to go the other way. And then he gets subbed off.” ?” Enrique continued. “I would have been angry too. I saw him kick a bottle. Of course, I would have been angry too. For me this is not enough and I don’t think they are playing well as a team, but also with the ball.” [Mbappe] “You have to do a lot more.”

When you wear the number 9 at Real Madrid, expectations rise and, although Mbappé has had opportunities, he is not doing enough with them. Combined with the fact that Rodrygo also left the XI, Ancelotti is still mixing and matching players to find out who can perform. Even Fede Valverde was removed from Madrid’s match against Milan at half-time, something that would have seemed unthinkable last season, but which demonstrates the need and desire to mix things up.

It is too early to remove Mbappé from the XI, but if they continue down this path, drastic measures may need to be taken. No one is above a spell on the bench and that could be what it takes for Mbappé to start performing like the number nine he can be.

Pak vs Eng Test series: Multan and Rawalpindi launches get ‘satisfactory’ rating in all three Tests

0

The surfaces Pakistan prepared for the recently concluded three-Test series against England received the seal of approval from the ICC, which rated the pitches for all three Tests as “satisfactory”.

The series, which Pakistan won 2-1, attracted a lot of attention for the prepared pitches. In the first Test, the surface looked extremely flat: Pakistan posted 556 before England piled up 827 for 7 declared, the highest total ever made by Pakistan and the fourth highest in the history of Test cricket. It was only a Pakistan collapse in the third innings that forced a result that seemed extremely unlikely when, halfway through the fourth day of the Test, the second innings had not yet concluded.
After that defeat in that innings, Pakistan radically changed their pitch preparation philosophy. A new selection committee including Aleem Dar and Aqib Javed decided to reuse the same surface for the second Test in Multan, using giant fans to dry the pitch. Preparation for the third test in Rawalpindi, a place that has historically had little effect, also involved large fans, as well as wedding-style heaters with windbreaks to help break up the surface.

Both fringes provided plenty of help to the spinners, with sharp, early spin as well as uneven bounce, and England’s 40 wickets in the last two Tests began to spin. Pakistan won the second Test on the morning of the fourth day, while the Pindi Test did not even make it to lunch on the third day.

There was little public complaint from England, and Pakistan maintained that it was within their rights to prepare surfaces that would give them home advantage after their heavy defeat on a flat track in the first Test. The ICC appears to have accepted that view, giving each of the strips the lowest rating that does not amount to censorship.

The ICC rates pitches and outfields for all international games on a scale of very good to unsuitable: very good, satisfactory, unsatisfactory and unsuitable. Places are awarded one demerit point for an unsatisfactory grade and three for an unsuitable grade. If any ground receives five or more demerit points in a consecutive five-year period, it is suspended from hosting any international cricket for 12 months.

This was the third consecutive Test at Pindi where the pitch came under scrutiny. In March 2022, the surface was rated “below average” on the scale the ICC used at the time and had one demerit point removed. He was given the same rating for the Test against England that same year and was awarded another demerit point, although this was later overturned on appeal.

FPL Week 11 Tips and Team of the Week: Man Utd triple up, Salah and Solanke captain at the helm

0

Mohamed Salah (captain), Liverpool, midfielder, £12.8m – home of Aston Villa

Why change a winning formula? Salah has scored in his last three, scoring in this game last season, Villa has just sent four to Spurs and has one less day’s rest than Liverpool after a trip to Belgium in the Champions League.

Easy captain’s pick this week.

Alejandro Garnacho, Manchester United, midfielder, £6.3m – home of Leicester City

Garnacho was a player to watch last week and is directly in the team for matchday 11.

The reasons behind your selection?

Only Salah has made more shots on goal.

Only Salah has had more important opportunities.

The best players tend to outperform their xG (Salah, for example, has seven goals against an xG of 5.63), but Garnacho is the other way around.

He has two goals with an xG of 3.39. There is only one player with a higher xG than that who does not have at least four goals…

Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United, midfielder, £8.2m – home of Leicester City

Yes, that midfielder is Fernandes and he is one goal ahead for an xG of 3.74, and that was a penalty last week against Chelsea.

Fernandes was fantastic against Leicester in the EFL Cup (Steve Cooper made some changes) as United scored five. He finished with two goals, it could have been more.

With the impetus of a new manager on the way, United will surely have to end this streak of few goals and what better opportunity than at home against a Leicester side that has conceded just under two goals per game.

WBBL 2024/25, BH-W vs ST-W Match Report 16, November 7, 2024

Sydney Thunder 170 for 5 (Knight 59*, Litchfield 40, Jonassen 3-22) won Brisbane heat 151 (Knott 55, G Harris 41, Bates 4-25) by 19 runs

England captain Heather Knight made an unbeaten half-century and Sam Bates took 4 for 25 to lead Sydney Thunder to a 19-run WBBL victory over Brisbane Heat at the WACA Ground.
Knight, Phoebe Litchfield and Chamari Athapaththu all fired to lift the Thunder to a formidable 170 for 5. In reply, Charli Knott and Grace Harris threatened to make the run chase, but the Heat were eventually bowled out for 151 after Bates dodged their magic.

After being sent in to bat, Thunder were 13 for 0 in the third over when Laura Harris dropped Georgia Voll for 2. Voll would score 22, but more importantly she combined with Athapaththu for a quick run of 52. opening to give Thunder the perfect platform to launch from.

Athapaththu and Litchfield smashed seven boundaries each, and Knight accelerated later in the innings as the Heat pitchers struggled to contain the star-studded lineup.

Heat playmaker Jess Jonassen was excellent with 3 for 22 from her four overs, and Shikha Pandey was economical. But the rest of the players struggled, with Grace Parsons and Nadine de Klerk taking the brunt of the punishment.

Heat needed to get off to a fast start in their run chase, and starter Grace Harris took three lucky hits during her blistering hit. He was on 5 when he bowled a spinning delivery from Bates to the keeper. The appeal was rejected and Thunder decided not to review it, but replays showed it clearly went out of his glove. Harris then fell on 26 and 32, but was eventually out when she was caught deep off a Taneale Peschel full toss.

Knott hit six fours and a six to make her first WBBL half-century and give the Heat a chance, but her hopes of victory were dashed when she was bowled by Bates, who now has 12 wickets in four games in what has been an excellent beginning. the season for the 28-year-old.

“I don’t know if there is a real secret behind [my form]. “It’s nice to finally be able to contribute,” Bates said. fox cricket. “I had a pretty average season last year, so I reflected on that quite a bit. I changed some little things and they’re paying off, which is good.”

Tencent confirms layoffs at Sharkmob London

0

Tencent has confirmed that a “headcount reduction” has been made at Sharkmob London.

As Pocket Gamer reported, Tencent did not specify how many employees have been affected by the decision.

“Like many studios, Sharkmob has been affected by the difficult conditions in the video game market,” he said. “As a result, Sharkmob has unfortunately had to make a reduction in staff at its London office.”

Pocket Gamer claimed that the “majority” of the team had been fired, however Tencent did not confirm this. GameIndustry.biz has contacted the technology company for clarification.

last month, GameIndustry.biz reported that Sharkmob London had entered a consultation period following Tencent’s decision to reduce its workforce. He also revealed the cancellation of an unannounced game.

“The decision to cancel the game, unfortunately, means that there will be a reduction in the number of people we can support at the London studio,” he said. “This is an incredibly difficult time and we aim to provide support and guidance to those potentially affected.”

Sharkmob’s Malmö studio is unaffected by the layoffs in London and is focusing on its upcoming game Exoborne.

Tencent acquired Sharkmob in 2019 for an undisclosed sum.

Sixers’ George booed on return to Los Angeles, calls reaction ‘stupid’

0

Before an announced crowd of 15,627, George made 7 of 9 shots and had 18 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals, but his former team defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 110-98.

George said he appreciated the tribute video and called the Clippers franchise “first class.” He said his return sparked a fair and divided reaction, but he didn’t understand or care about the boos after helping the Clippers reach their only Western Conference Finals appearance in 2021.

“It’s stupid,” George said when asked if he was surprised to hear boos after playing five seasons in Los Angeles. “I mean, I was a free agent, you know what I mean? It wasn’t something where I demanded a trade or went against the team here. I was a free agent. The team came up with something friendly and I did what was best for me in that situation.

“So there was cheers. I appreciate them. Those were the ones I played hard for. The boos, I didn’t understand them. I still don’t understand them when I go.” [back] to Indy, but it is what it is. They are sports. “I’m looking forward to coming back next year and getting more boos.”

After five seasons playing for the Clippers, George signed a four-year, $212 million max contract as a free agent with the Philadelphia 76ers in the summer. George said he wanted to remain a Clipper. But he wanted a no-trade clause along with a three-year, $150 million extension or a four-year max deal, and the Clippers refused to do either.

After George left, some Clippers fans were upset by comments he made on his podcast, “Podcast P with Paul George,” when he described returning to his hometown of Los Angeles to join the Clippers as if he were in the “B team.” ” because many Lakers fans would tell him that he should have joined the Lakers.

Some fans on The Wall, a section where the Clippers’ most ardent fans line up in unbroken lines behind the basket near the opponent’s bench, brought signs referencing George’s podcast. Several fans held signs that combined to read: “PG THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK.”

George, playing in just his second game after suffering a bone bruise in his left knee late in the preseason, said he didn’t see many of the signs.

“Oh, well, I’m sure they’re probably all subscribers,” George said, referring to his podcast. “So it’s a win-win situation. I guess it’s two wins against The Wall.”

During the first half, when the Sixers had to shoot the basket next to The Wall, George made both of his free throw attempts. In the season-opening overtime loss to the Phoenix Suns, Clippers fans at The Wall successfully distracted Kevin Durant enough for him to miss a pair of free throws.

George said Wednesday morning that he doesn’t hold a grudge against the Clippers organization for not re-signing him. He cited his “impressive” relationship with team owner Steve Ballmer and president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank.

“I think it was misunderstood a little or [the] The narrative was not written correctly with the relationship with Lawrence. [Frank]the relationship with Steve Ballmer,” George said before the Sixers had their morning shootout at UCLA. “I mean, they were amazing the whole time I was here.

“That’s why it was such a shocking decision how it played out in the end. But they were incredible. My time here, I think it was kind of refreshing to be around an association like that with a front office. And I think that was probably the highlight of all. [time with the Clippers]. How great they were during my tenure here.”

Frank told ESPN he was willing to give the Kawhi Leonard-George duo another three years by extending George the same three-year, $150 million contract he gave Leonard in January. But the team wouldn’t give George a no-trade clause with that deal or give him a four-year maximum deal, citing roster flexibility, age and the new collective bargaining agreement’s second apron, which penalizes teams that They pay luxury taxes like the Clippers. .

Beyond the boos, George said he felt a lot of love from old friends from his former team and from many family and friends in the building. He spent time with former teammates, like James Harden, before the game and didn’t leave the court for a good 15 minutes afterward, as he met up with more former teammates, like Ivica Zubac, and hugged his parents, team employees. Clippers and friends. who were on the field.

“There’s no hard feelings,” George said when asked about the hard feelings that could arise when a star leaves a franchise. “I talked to those guys throughout the process. James was informed of what he was doing. Kawhi was informed of what he was doing. Russ [Westbrook] He was informed of what he was doing. I talked to all those guys, so there was no hard feelings.

“At the end of the day, regardless of whether we’re teammates or not, those are bonds that are built for life and anything that happens in basketball doesn’t affect that relationship.”

George said he thought the Intuit Dome was as spectacular as advertised, but there was only one thing missing: more Clippers fans.

“It was great,” he said of the Clippers’ new home. “I wish it had been a little more crowded. I didn’t think it was crowded enough for this to be a Clippers exclusive.

“But the facilities, this is amazing. What Ballmer did and his vision and how it came to fruition, it’s the best stadium to play in.”
