PS5 Pro price has had no “negative impact” on sales, says Sony boss

Sony says that despite “different feedback” about the high price of the PS5 Pro, the “price […] has not had a negative impact” on sales.

As Genki_JPN discovered, Sony President, COO and CFO Hiroki Totoki said the system was “aimed” at “heavy users,” not casual gamers.

“Hardcore users are the target of this hardware,” Totoki said.

“In terms of pricing, a lot of people made different comments about it, but I don’t think the price of PS5 Pro has had a negative impact.”

Sales of Sony’s PS5 consoles have exceeded 65 million units. Sony says growth in its gaming and network services division can be attributed to increased sales of its third-party game subscriptions, DLC and PlayStation Plus.

131.3 million games were shipped in the first half of the financial year, of which 11.3 million were first-party games. 1.5 million of them come from Astro Bot, which debuted in September.

Why Vikings can cover

Wide receiver Justin Jefferson leads the league in receiving yards with 783 and has surpassed 80 receiving yards in each of his last seven games. With 48 receptions and five touchdowns on the season, Minnesota’s top wide receiver has been matchup-proof. This week they face a Jacksonville secondary that is allowing 264.3 yards per game, second most in the NFL heading into Week 10.

Quarterback Sam Darnold hasn’t been as sharp lately as he was earlier this season, but the overall numbers are still impressive. The veteran threw for 1,900 yards and 17 touchdowns against seven interceptions. With tight end TJ Hockenson back from a knee injury he suffered late in 2023, Minnesota’s offense is at full strength and it should be difficult for the Jaguars’ maligned defense to slow down.

Why the Jaguars can cover

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence (questionable, shoulder) is reportedly unlikely to play Sunday and will be replaced by backup Mac Jones, the Patriots’ former quarterback. Jones has only thrown nine passes in 2024, but will need to return to his form as a rookie, when he threw for 3,801 yards and 22 touchdowns for New England in 2021. Against a defense that attacks more in the NFL, the reliance on the defense will be paramount. of Jacksonville to open up against man coverage.

Rookie first-round pick, wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., should feature heavily in the Jaguars’ game plan this week. He leads the team with 35 receptions for 595 yards and five touchdowns, emerging as a deep play threat. Tight end Evan Engram should also be a focal point of the passing game, as he’s averaging 54 yards per game since returning from injury in mid-October.

How to make Vikings vs. Jaguars

The model has simulated Minnesota vs. Jacksonville 10,000 times and the results are in. He leans down on the point total and also says that one side of the spread hits almost 60% of the time. You can only see the selection of Vikings vs. Model Jaguars at SportsLine.

India will not travel to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy

0

The BCCI has informed the ICC that India will not travel to Pakistan to participate in the Champions Trophy 2025. ESPNcricinfo understands that the BCCI told the ICC that the Indian government had advised it not to send the team to Pakistan. The eight-team Champions Trophy is scheduled to be played at three venues in Pakistan between February 19 and March 9, but this development means the ICC and PCB will need to activate a contingency plan, likely involving a hybrid model in which the teams will travel between Pakistan. and a second headquarters.

This will not be easy, since on Friday PCB president Mohsin Naqvi ruled out the use of a hybrid model, or even that it had been discussed. But ESPNcricinfo understands that several contingency plans had been drawn up a few months ago in case the hybrid model was adopted. While there are a few countries shortlisted, it is understood that the United Arab Emirates, due to its proximity to Pakistan, is likely to be the favourites. Sri Lanka is also on the short list.

The ICC was informed of the BCCI’s stance earlier this week, although it could not be confirmed whether the BCCI had orally communicated its decision. The ICC may be seeking written communication before it can be transmitted to the PCB. Naqvi had insisted on Friday that the PCB would need “in writing” any objections the BCCI had and, if so, he would have to discuss it with his government before taking any final decision.

ESPNcricinfo has sought responses from the ICC, PCB and BCCI on the developments.

Naqvi’s stance on Friday was notably more unequivocal than he has been on the issue, insisting that the PCB was not “prepared to accept” the hybrid model. He referred to the “grand gestures” the PCB had made earlier, when the team traveled to India to play the ODI World Cup in 2023, despite India refusing to travel to Pakistan for the previous Asia Cup. . That tournament eventually adopted a hybrid model, with the latter stages being played in Sri Lanka. He also made it clear that any future travel from Pakistan to India would not be a given and would be a decision of the government.

The Champions Trophy will feature eight teams, with two groups of four followed by semifinals and a final. The participating teams are Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa. Monday, November 11 will mark 100 days until the start of the event, although the schedule and ticket sales details have not yet been announced. ESPNcricinfo has also been told that a scheduling announcement event in Lahore next week is likely to be postponed due to these developments.

As a result of the strained political ties between the two countries, India has not traveled to Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup, despite the latter playing several ICC events in India, including the 2023 World Cup. Since then, the teams have only played one bilateral series, a white-ball tour that Pakistan undertook in 2012-13.

Where to watch Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Manchester City: Premier League Live Online, TV, Prediction, Odds

0

Manchester Town will struggle to hold on this weekend after coming out to face Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday. Pep Guardiola will be looking for a reaction at the American Special Nation Stadium after a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Rubén Amorim’s Porting CP in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, which has extended an extraordinary losing streak to three in all competitions for the protective equipment. EPL headlines. Town are already two points behind leaders Liverpool, having dropped seven points this season. Brighton are winless in three games so far, having just lost twice in consecutive games to the Reds in the Premier League and EFL Cup. The Seagulls have proven to be tough consumers for Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United already this season and will hope to rub more salt into Town’s increasingly open wounds.

Here are our stories, how you’ll oversee the fit and more:

How you can monitor and probabilities.

  • Time: Saturday November 9 | Passed: 12:30 pm Eastern Time
  • Location: American Specific Nation Stadium – Falmer, England
  • Oversee: US Community
  • Odd: Brighton +340; Draw +300; City -133

Season so far

Brighton is in eighth place in the EPL standings with four wins, four draws and two losses with 17 goals scored and 14 conceded for a total of 16 out of a possible 30. Nottingham Woodland, in third place, is three things away, but two of those four wins. I got home and it’s been a while since Amex finally saw a home win. City had been doing quite well until their new problem, but their broadcast position can still be saved with seven wins from 10 and two draws on 23 points from 10 games to sit in second place. All three defeats came on the road at the same time as their draw against Newcastle United also came on the road, meaning there is a theme there.

Staff information

Brighton: Like Town, the hosts have had surprise problems with their own delays. Don’t expect to see James Milner, Adam Webster or Solly March here. Questions also remain over Lewis Dunk, Yankuba Minteh, Joao Pedro and Matt O’Riley, as well as Carlos Baleba.

Brighton XI imaginable: Verbruggen; Veltman, Van Hecke, Julio, Estupiñán; Kadioglu, Hinshelwood, Ayari, Mitoma; Rutter, Welbeck.

City: It’s more a question of who is available than who is missing, given the long history of absences or tardiness. Kevin de Bruyne might recover from the shock here, although that’s no more than 100%. Alternatively, John Stones, Ruben Dias, Jack Grealish, Oscar Bobb and Rodri are certainly out of this one.

Imaginable Town XI: Ederson; Lewis, Akanji, Simpson-Pusey, Gvardiol; Kovacic; Savinho, Foden, Silva, Nunes; Haaland.

Prediction

With a lack of players on both sides and neither team able to hold off their fighters as often, expect this to be a comedic, objective-filled encounter that will likely end the stage after all. Choose: Brighton 2, city 2.

WBBL 2024/25, Match Report 19th Match of MR-W vs MS-W, November 9, 2024

Melbourne Renegades 146 for 6 (Capsey 33, Faltum 29, Stalenberg 26*, Kapp 2-22) won Melbourne Stars 141 for 9 (Deepti 23, Illingworh 1-8, Bekker 1-9) by 15 runs

Local replacement player Charis Bekker moved from the pub to center stage as Melbourne Renegades recorded a 15-run WBBL victory over arch-rivals Melbourne Stars.

Bekker was playing in just her second WBBL game after being called up to the team to replace the injured Sophie Molineux (knee). The 20-year-old didn’t let the grand stage of a Melbourne derby faze her, returning a paltry figures of 1 for 9 in her four overs to be named player of the match.

“It’s been a whirlwind,” Bekker said. “I was in the pub a couple of days ago with my friends and then I got the call. [to join the squad]. I played against the Scorchers and it was really great. And then he got on a flight. “It was very rushed.”

Bekker’s first WBBL wicket was none other than superstar batsman Meg Lanning.

“Everyone was cheering me on, I was just trying to throw my best ball and it turned out to be Meg Lanning, which was awesome,” Bekker said.

Deepti Sharma top-scored for the Stars with 23. Georgia Wareham claimed the key wicket from captain Annabel Sutherland with 16. The result improved the Renegades’ record to 3-3, while the Stars are now 2-3.

Earlier, Renegades were struggling at 87 for 5 before Naomi Stalenberg (26 not out off 17 balls) and Nicole Faltum (29 off 23) added some useful runs to raise the total to 146 for 6.

The Renegades were 54 for 2 after 10 overs when they took the power surge. Although Deandra Dottin fell for 7 soon after, Renegades managed 29 runs in the two overs. Alice Capsey and Wareham fell in quick succession before Stalenberg and Faltum steadied the ship with a 55-run stand.

The Stars’ chase started slowly with the scoreboard reading 16 for 1 after five overs. Bhatia was lucky to still be there after wicketkeeper Faltum dropped her in the first over when he was yet to score. The opener scored 22 off 26 balls, but the rest of her teammates struggled for fluency as the required running speed soared.
