Through the defeat of the Indiana Pacers against the Orlando Magic and the victory of the Milwaukee Bucks over the Detroit’s Pistons on Friday night, the 10 seeds of Playoffs/Play-in of the East Conference and the corresponding first round clashes are now established. In the West, things are not so tidy. But we obtained some clarity on Friday night when the Los Angeles Lakers achieved seed number 3 with their victory in the Houston Rockets. The three upper seeds of the West are now locked up as thunder, rockets and Lakers, in that order.
After that, three of the Nuggets, Clippers, Warriors, Timberwolves or Grizzlies can end with seeds of four to six, while two of those teams will have to go through the game tournament. No. 8 Memphis needs the greatest help after his loss on Friday night in Denver, which has the internal track of seed No. 4.
Everyone has a game on Sunday. With the Warriors and Clippers each winning their game on Friday, pay special attention to its direct end to 3:30 ET on Sunday. It will help to determine a lot in terms of how these seeds of the west are shaken.

As a reminder: The six best teams at each conference automatically obtain places in the 16 -team playoff field. The final Four Playoff Spots will be determined by the game tournament, which will feature the numbers 7-10 at each conference. The seventh place team receives the team of eight places to win the seed number 7. The loser of that game will face the winner of a game between the teams of the ninth and tenth place for seed number 8.
Tie-breaker
This is how the ranks of the NBA playoffs work:
In the case of a bidirectional draw, the team that won the season series obtains the highest seed. If they divide the season series and one of the teams won its division, the division winner obtains the highest seed. If that does not solve the draw, then the tiebreaker are, in order: the division record (if the teams are in the same division), conference record, record against the 10 best teams at conference, record against teams of the 10 best teams in both conferences, points differential.
In the event that more than two teams are tied, the tiebreaker are, in order: winner of the division, record against tied equipment, division record (if all the tied teams are in the same division), conference record, record against teams of the Top 10 conference, record against the 10 main teams in both conferences, differential points.
And here there is a breakdown of who currently owns some of the key racks:
- The Lakers hold the tiebreaker in front of the Nuggets, Clippers, Warriors, Timberwolves and Grizzlies.
- Nuggets hold the tiebreaker against the Warriors.
- The clippers hold the tiebreaker in front of the Warriors and Grizzlies.
- The Grizzlies hold the tiebreaker in front of the head against the Timberwolves.
- The Warriors hold the tiebreaker in front of the Timberwolves and Grizzlies.
- The Timberwolves hold the face to face against nuggets and clippers.
- The Kings hold the face to face on the mavericks
