During each draft cycle, we tend to follow the same exact timeline of the events:
- Day after the previous draft: “next year’s class is generational”
- Summer: 62 first round QB grades with an attached culminating point of the QB that hits an open medium -level crossing.
- Autumn: 38 TOP 10 First Round Locks
- Post All-Star Game Circuit: 75 ‘Risers’ of First Round
- Post combine: Each team is looking to ascend
- In early April: this class really only has 2 first -round graduate prospects
- Middle April: Each team is looking to exchange from the first round
For registration, we are currently in the “none of these players are good” and “everyone wants to change” the part of the cycle. In case you follow it.
In the course of the university football season, we have seen that the national conversation goes from ‘The Battle for QB1: Ward vs Sanders’ A Now ‘Cam Ward is the clear and distant QB1 better than Sanders’.
Personally, I find the latter very fun because many of these same people spent most of the summer and half of the fall trying to sell to the public in Carson Beck and Connor Weigman as QB1. And then, after week 2, it became Garrett Nussemeir and Miller Moss, then, and so on, before many finally began to give Ward and Sanders their due to the main perspectives.

For example, Ward was not on the list of the 10 top of the preseason of many people, much less QB1. But the talented call of the signal has always been a very coveted perspective in my eyes, which goes back to his days of embodied words. Upon entering the season, he was very high with Ward and his potential in Miami.
He even launched this comparison when he began his transfer to the state of Washington from the incarnate word.
Ward initially declared for the Draft and was scheduled to go to the Senior Bowl of Reese, before retiring and transferred to Miami. Now, many will say that he did not have a scout first round qualification, so he decided to return to school; partly in my opinion. While yes, he did not have a high rating of the explorers, nor Bo Nix. But we saw Nix go and make the most of his chance at the Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine, which helped improve his stock enough to see him become a first round selection by the Denver Broncos.
I even asked Ward in the NFL combined on his unique path to potentially the general selection #1.
Who can say that Ward’s path would not have resulted in the same type of result, especially with the necessary QB teams in this Draft class, which did not take a QB in the first round of the draft last year?
Ward has always had talent, mental hardness and sand to be a first round selection, which demonstrated even more this season in Miami, which in retrospect seems to be worthwhile, since it is scheduled to go first in general.
What now leads us to the most polarizing player in this year’s draft class: Shedeur Sanders.
I have been drugged with Sanders since his days at Jackson State, when many were too busy to watch FCS football, I guess.
Based on the stories you hear, you would think that Shedeur Sanders came out of a heavy offensive where he only averaged 17 attempts to pass by game. I can understand the thought if that were the case, because there is no way to take that type of QB in Round 1, right?
Anyway, there are a lot of reasons why Shedeur Sanders is a good faith franchise QB. This is where Sanders stands out as QB: situational football, which is
- Third offensive: In Colorado, Sanders has completed 63.8% of its passes in the third Downs, with 69 first conversions in 105 attempts at third place. He also has 11 touchdowns only three interceptions in the third Down.
- Red zone offense: In Jackson State, Sanders represented 47 TouchDowns to only two interceptions. In Colorado, he launched 18 touchdowns only three interceptions, completing 71.4% of his passes.
It is also included in the situational football of the offensive, the end of the situations of the game and the situations of need to have it, everything we have seen to Sanders Excel. He has a 2-2 record in his career in extra time games, and has led multiple games winning games/that tied in his career.
The ability to prosper in the aforementioned pressure situations is what separates the average quarters from the good quarterbacks. We are constantly looking for such players in the position, and Sanders has been one of the most consistent in those categories in a long time.
From a perspective of physical tools, it is its maneuverability of pocket, touch, time and elite level precision that makes it the classic and retreat ideal classic. When you combine your physical tools and your ability to prosper in high pressure situations within a game, it makes the comparison with Joe Burrow and CJ Stud seem even more at the point than many make themselves believe.
There are detractors who say that Sanders is not mobile enough, or does not have a strong enough arm to justify going within the 5 best of the NFL draft.
I do not agree with that feeling, since we observe similar perspectives in terms of physical attributes in the recent draft memory that have been first in general:
Another common thought is that this is a “year below” for the QB position, especially in the upper part with Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, saying that neither of them would have gone so high in the draft class last year.
Once again, I do not agree.

Both Ward and Sanders are there with first -round first round players (80 or superiors) in previous classes. These two are QB of legitimate franchises that have the high floor to raise the program to which they are claimed. Normally, we are mainly projecting what we believe that these perspectives will do as professionals, but fortunately we have seen Ward and Sanders to raise FCS programs such as Incarnate Word and Jackson State at the heights of the postseason, as well as raising the programs once proud as Washington State, Miami and Colorado, which were experiencing a mediocre period in their history, left the five programs that I leave the five programs that I leave the five programs.
