With only two days for the beginning of the NFL 2025 draft, there has not been a single exchange made with a first round selection, but that is something that could certainly change in the next 48 hours.
By the time we arrive at the beginning of the draft, there is the possibility that we could see a team make a great success in the first time. According to Peter Schrager from ESPN, the Browns and the giants have received calls this week of teams that seek to exchange the top three.
The Browns currently have the second general selection, while the giants are ready to go to the clock for the first time in the third in general.
“Telephone calls have been made to the Browns to both of them and the giants to the three with the intention of ascending,” said Schrager. “There are teams that seek to get up in this draft for both or three.”
Although Schrager did not identify the teams that seek to change, he said they are aiming at one of the three players, “it would be for Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter or the corridor, Ashton Jeanty.”
Schrager also added that giants and Browns have not been “immediately hitting the phone”, which means they are listening to offers and could be open to an agreement if a team is willing to pay the right price.
If you look at the teams that could be looking for a deal, it would not be shocking if the Jaguars were on that list. The Jags, who have the fifth general selection, have needs both in the corner and the open receiver and could meet both needs by obtaining Hunter, but they would probably have to change until the second in general. In addition, they have connected with Jeanty and if they want to make sure they get it, they could change to the third general selection.
The Raiders, who have the sixth general selection, have also connected with Jeantty and if they want to make sure the jaguars do not grab it, they are likely to need to exchange the top three.
If you go beyond the draft, the Panthers could also be interested in ascending.
