Assassin’s Creed Shadows debuted secondly in the general income table of Newzoo for March, after its launch during the second half of last month.
According to the data firm, a “significant part” of the total income of the game came from Steam compared to the previous entries in the franchise. Assassin’s Creed Shadows was the first Ubisoft game to launch the first day in Steam since 2019.
At that time, Ubisoft said that the decision to stop launching its titles in Steam was due to the “unrealistic” business model of the platform that “does not reflect where the world is today in terms of game distribution.” The editor returned to Steam in 2022 with the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla of 2020.
There were six new titles in the 10 main income lists for March, including MLB The Show 25 at number 4, fiction divided into number 6 and WWE 2K25 in number 9.

Newzoo attributed this leap to its low price and positive criticism. The title jumped even more in the player’s lists, from No.336 to No.12.
“It is an excellent example of the possible fun game loop, an innovative approach for a genre and solid execution,” said Newzoo. “The fact that Repo broke 10 million monthly active users in March is a testimony of quality and exaggeration of experience.”
Crime Sim The 1st schedule followed the repository at number 12 on income lists, which followed a similar success trajectory with an “accessible price and a fun and deep game” that leads to decent sales.
Completing the top 20 of the new launches was Inzoi of Krafton, which exceeded a million sales within a week of its launch in early access on March 28.
While the repository was the main prominent point in the commitment lists of Newzoo players for March, Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Atomfall reached the 20 best in the individual Xbox table in No.16 and No.18 respectively.
