The Boston Celtics have been without Kristaps porzingis during the last six games, including the victory on Monday night over the Utah jazz, since the great man has been trying what he described as a “viral disease” that the team has not “could identify completely.”
Porzingis last adapted on February 26 when the Celtics lost in Detroit and have been listed with a “noobic disease” since then.
“I’ve been dealing with some viral diseases that we have not yet been able to identify completely,” Porzingis Posted in Social Networks Mondays. “I am recovering and improving. But I still force to help this team. Thank you for the support and I expect a healthy return soon.”
Porzingis sat down with the team on Thursday for Boston’s victory over 76ers and went through the warming on Saturday before Boston’s victory over the Lakers. Porzingis was listed as questionable for the Lakers game and doubtful for the confrontation on Monday night with Utah, which the Celtics won, 114-108.
Before Monday’s game, The Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla told reporters That porzingis is “approaching” on a return. Last Thursday, Mazzulla said Porzingis has been going to the team’s facilities to get shots “every day”, but he hasn’t felt good.
Porzingis lost the first month of the season after undergoing an out -of -season ankle surgery. From his return, he has averaged 18.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 32 games played.
The Celtics have gone 5-1 on this last period without porzingis, so there is no real reason to hurry it to action before it is ready. The Celtics, now 47-18, are basically locked in sown No. 2, eight games behind No. 1 Cleveland and five in No. 3 New York with 17 remaining games.
The priority is the playoffs. Boston just need to make sure Porzingis is fine.
