Breaking news out of Dallas — the Dallas Cowboys have released cornerback Trevon Diggs and placed him on NFL waivers, ending his six-season tenure with the franchise.
Selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Diggs quickly emerged as one of the league’s most dynamic defenders, earning two Pro Bowl selections and leading the NFL with 11 interceptions in 2021.
But recent years have been plagued by injuries — including a torn ACL, ongoing knee issues, and a concussion from an at-home incident — limiting his availability and production.
Dallas signed Diggs to a five-year, $97 million extension in 2023, but after declining performance and health setbacks, the Cowboys decided to move on before the season finale.
Diggs will pass through the waiver process, and if unclaimed, is expected to become a free agent — giving playoff contenders an opportunity to add a veteran cornerback.
