Five AFC teams that there must be the draft: Bengals, Bills has the opportunity to eliminate the bosses

Each season, the NFL draft takes the center of the stage and remains a crucial part of the low season for the 32 teams. Teams that win Super Bowls are generally built through the draft.

Just look at the Super Bowl champion, Philadelphia Eagles. Seven of its offensive headlines were recruited, including the MVP of the Super Bowl, Jalen Hurts and four of the five headlines possibly the best offensive line in football. Each starter on the defensive line was recruited, and the best Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper Safe were selected with the two best team teams last year (No. 22 and No. 40 in general).

It doesn’t matter where a team feels in the NFL pantheon, that team can instantly improve in 2025 with a good draft class. The Houston Texans did it with CJ Stoud in 2023 and the Washington commanders did the same in 2024 with Jayden Daniels, adding quartbacks of the franchise to help them along the way. Of course, a field marshal of the franchise helps, but the teams can still improve their playoff possibilities and even become a super bowl contender with rookies that contribute immediately.

There are many AFC teams that compete to knock down Kansas City chiefs and can improve their possibilities with a good draft class. Others are trying to recover their franchises and outside their loser forms. These are five teams that need to accelerate the draft in the AFC this year.

The Bengals tied their salary limit to retain J’mar Chase and Tee Higgins (whom they reduced), signing the two receptors open to long -term mass extensions this low season. Joe Burrow is one of the best paid quarters in football, another reason why there is little margin of error by obtaining the draft selections correctly and improving other areas of the list.

Then there is the future of the passes corridor, Trey Hendrickson, whom Cincinnati has not yet accepted in an extension. Bengals need significant help in defense in Edge Rusher (even with Hendrickson), a corner and supporter as the new defensive coordinator to Golden needs to renew unity. They also need to improve an offensive line that allowed a cattle rate of 6.9% last season (19 in the NFL).

If the flares can accelerate the draft with their best selections (they have No. 17 and No. 49), they will be a contestant of the AFC once more.

The Patriots have a franchise field marshal in Drake Maye, but New England had one of the worst lists of the NFL last season. One of the benefits of having a selection among the top five is to obtain a premium player in this year’s draft class, and two of the three best selections could be quarterbacks. That could shape New England to obtain the open/corner receptor Travis Hunter or the Abdul Carter passes corridor.

Regardless of whether the Patriots got one of those players or not, New England must improve an offensive that was the last in the league in game passage yards (176.2), 29th in net yards per attempt (5.7) and 30 at offensive points per game (16.5). The Patriots added Stefon Diggs in the open receiver, but they need to find another pass receiver that can immediately boost this offensive in number 38 in general or number 69 in general. They also need to improve an offensive line that was 29 in the cattle rate (9.0%) last season, even with signings of free agents Morgan Moses and Garrett Bradbury.

New England only needs to take the best player available at number 4 and complete the list from there.

Having the number 1 selection in the draft is already essential for a franchise to obtain the correct selection, especially in a class that does not seem to be deep in quartback. The Titans seem to be locked in Cam Ward in number 1 in general, but they have to make sure they have the correct field marshal and the offensive line to protect it in year 1 (27 at the rate of captures allowed last season with 8.9%).

What happens if Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter become generational players? Does that mean Tennessee made a mistake if Ward is just a “good” quarterback? This is the dilemma with a team that needs a franchise field marshal in a ganiable division such as AFC South.

Tennessee also has selection No. 35 and two selections in the fourth round (No. 103 and No. 120), but Selection No. 1 will be the selection that initiates the reconstruction. Obtaining this correct choice could change the result of the franchise.

4. Kansas City Chiefs (8 selections)

The Chiefs are still the team to win in the AFC, but it is clear that they need to make some settings to the list to win another Super Bowl. His offensive line was mistreated in the Super Bowl for the Eagles pass, one of the main reasons why Patrick Mahomes fought throughout the game.

Kansas City has to address the left Tackle post, which turned out that Joe Thuney took over after Kingsley Suamataia and Wanya Morris could not win the work last year. They also exchanged Thuney, so the entire left side of the offensive line must be renewed.

Chiefs could also use depth in defensive Tackle and could also use a long -term replacement for Travis Kelce. The Super Bowl window is always open for Patrick Mahomes, but Chiefs can immediately improve their list when reaching their four best teams (No. 31, No. 63, No. 66, No. 95), all in the first three rounds.

If the left side of the offensive line can be addressed with quality holders, the teams will have difficulty criticizing Kansas City in the AFC.

The Bills were right on the verge of beating the Chiefs in the AFC championship game, but they had three points below to go to their first Super Bowl since the 1993 season. This was with a list that was not as strong as in previous years.

So how can Bills finally overcome the Chiefs? Finding an open receiver to complement Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman is essential, since Josh Allen could use all the skill position players they can get. Buffalo will also have to address the outputs of Rasul Douglas and Kaiir Elam, finding an initial corner in this draft.

Bills have talent on the list, but how can Buffalo overcome the hump? Finding more pass runners to expose the weakness of Chiefs in the offensive line would also help significantly. Buffalo has selections No. 30, No. 56 and No. 62 in this draft, a great opportunity to find initial caliber players that can contribute immediately and complete the upper end of the list.

Bills usually write well under the general manager Brandon Beane. They can’t spoil this.
