Nintendo has finally detailed how American tariffs will affect the launch of Switch 2, and confirmed the increase in prices for a variety of console accessories “due to changes in market conditions.”
A new set of Joy-Con 2 controllers, for example, will now cost $ 95, an increase of $ 5. The Switch 2 Pro Controller and Switch 2 Chamber has also seen price increases from $ 5, up to $ 85 and $ 55 respectively.
But the $ 450 switch 2 in itself, including its $ 500 package with Mario Kart World, will not increase the price for now, Nintendo has decided. Eurogamer previously listened to an analyst who predicted that Nintendo would probably not increase the price of switch 2 in response to tariffs, since he already faced criticism of the cost of the console.
While a part of the Switch 2 consoles are manufactured in China, Nintendo has also used factories in Vietnam and has diverted most of its actions manufactured to the United States before the current US trade war-china in force.
