Now that Marvel Snap is back online, its developer says it wants a new editor

Marvel developer Snap has said it is looking for a new publisher to avoid another shutdown like the one it suffered over the weekend.

In the days leading up to Donald Trump’s inauguration as president of the United States, the Supreme Court decided to uphold the decision to ban TikTok.

As a result, TikTok was taken offline in the US last weekend, along with other apps owned by its developer ByteDance.

One of these apps was Marvel Snap, which was published by ByteDance’s game publishing imprint, Nuverse.

On Sunday, Marvel Snap developer Second Dinner explained on

Following Trump’s promise to resolve the TikTok situation and the app’s reinstatement in the US, Marvel Snap is now up and running again, but Second Dinner now says it wants a new editor so it won’t be affected if TikTok returns to close in the future. .

“Marvel Snap is back online in the US,” the studio posted on X. “But to make sure this never happens again, we’re working to offer more in-house services and partner with a new publisher. This is the beginning of a new era for Marvel Snap.

“We know this will probably leave you with more questions than answers. We appreciate your patience, but in the meantime enjoy playing Marvel Snap. We will continue to update with more information as soon as possible.”

The game is not yet on the App Store, meaning anyone who tried to uninstall and redownload it during its downtime cannot currently do so. Second Dinner says it is working to restore App Store availability.

“During this downtime, we realize that many of you are missing out on content, rewards, and time-based quests,” he added. “Second Dinner is committed to ensuring that all players are compensated for lost time.”

Originally released in October 2022 after a beta testing period, Marvel Snap received critical acclaim and won several awards, including Best Mobile game at The game Awards, New York game Awards, and DICE Awards.
