Pocketpair has commemorated Palworld’s first anniversary by detailing its future roadmap for updates.
According to the developer, it will continue to update the early access version of the game with features such as cooperative cross-play, a final boss and a final scenario, world transfers for friends, and more.
There are no specific timelines for the updates, but Pocketpair says it is currently working on the following:
- COOPERATIVE crossplay
- Worldwide transfers for friends
- Final boss / Final scenario
- Other ways to strengthen and improve Pals
- Various new content, such as new friends and technologies.
- game collaborations (including Terraria)
- Improvements to the placement of world objects.
- Improvements to basic friends.
- Optimization improvements.
- User experience improvements
As part of Palworld’s first anniversary celebrations, the game developer is also conducting a Pal popularity survey. So far 180 Pals have appeared and Pocketpair invites fans to vote for their favourite.
Released in January 2024 via Steam Early Access and Xbox game Preview, the monster-catching survival game was an immediate hit, attracting 25 million players in just its first month, according to Pocketpair.
The game was later released for PlayStation 5 in September. However, it faces a legal challenge from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company in Japan, who allege that Palworld “infringes multiple patent rights.”
The issue arises from three patents related to the game, all of which were initially filed by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company between February and July of last year.
