The development team has made a sudden and shocking announcement about trade in Pokemon Tcg Pocket, which will enter into force at the end of autumn of 2025. This includes the complete elimination of commercial tokens, the shine dust that takes its place as the commercial currency, the ability to select cards for which you want to trade and more.
This announcement, published through a long image on official platforms that include the Pokemon TCG Pocket Twitter, begins by thanking players for their comments on the commercial system. Then continue to the changes themselves, pointing out that the team expects them to make the function more “accessible and pleasant.”

The complete list of changes in trade is:
- Trade tokens will be completely eliminated and players will no longer need to exchange cards to obtain the currency required for trade.
- Instead, three diamond trade cards, four diamonds and a rarity of a star will now require that they shine.
- When you open a reinforcement package, Shinedust will automatically be obtained if you get a card that is already registered on your DEX card. Currently, it is also required that Shinedust obtains Flair, so we are looking to increase the amount offered, since it will also be necessary for trade. In total, this change should allow you to exchange more cards than before this update.
- The trade tokens that they currently have can become shining when the element is eliminated from the game.
- There are no changes in how the rarity cards of a diamond and two diamonds are marketed.
In addition, there is the development feature mentioned above, explained by the team as such:
- A feature will be added that allows you to share cards that are interested in merchant through the game function in the game.
The exchange function was added to the game earlier this year, and was immediately received with a mixture of disappointment and eagerness of the community. The problems arose from two main problems: the commercial currency that limits the amount of trade that a player can do, as well as the limit of rarity in the negotiable letters. Now, these changes address the first problem (everyone has a lot of shine dust), while that second complaint will remain. However, it is worth noting that the team has expressed that these limits to what can be negotiated can change as more packages are added. An understandable approach if one is to cut any rare commercial growth ecosystem.
That ability to list the cards you want to change is also a good touch. Personally speaking, I wanted a second Victrebel for some time, but obviously he did not want to blow packages in old sets due to all the new bright cards that came with triumphant light. This is expected, will help those who seek specific cards of one or two without having to venture to several commercial discords or other community centers.
