QB Joe Flacco, Browns gathering in a one -year agreement, says Agent

The Cleveland Browns and the veteran Campo Mariscal Joe Flacco have reached an agreement on a one -year contract and $ 4 million, his agent, Joe Linta, said Adam Schefter of ESPN on Friday.

The agreement returns Flacco to Cleveland, where he won the Award for the Return of the NFL year in 2023.

The contract can be worth up to $ 13 million with incentives. The Browns also announced an agreement with Flacco on Friday without revealing terms.

Flacco also spoke with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings, but chose to spend its 18th NFL season with the Browns. The co -owner Jimmy Haslam had told a group of local journalists at the annual NFL meeting that Flacco remained an option for the team.

Flacco joins a field marshal room with Deshaun Watson, which is rehabilitating after withdrawing his right Achilles tendon and could miss most or the entire 2025 season, and Kenny Pickett, who was changed to Cleveland and said he told him that he will have the opportunity to be the titular field marshal.

The Browns have been looking for help for the field marshal this low season after using four pins in 2024. Cleveland chose not to sign Jameis Winston again, the backup of last year, and changed for Pickett in the first week of free agency, sending the philadelphia Eagles a selection of fifth round and quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

Cleveland has the second general selection in the 2025 Draft and has met with several most important field marshal prospects, including Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe and Tyler Shough. However, Haslam said the team would not force a field marshal with its first selection.

Some believed that Flacco did with the NFL when no team seriously considered it to its lists during most of the 2023 season.

But after the shoulder injury of the Watson season that season, the Browns signed Flacco and provided a five -game stretch that rivaled anyone that the franchise has seen of a Quarterback since he returned to Cleveland in 1999. Flaccco launched for more than 300 yards in four consecutive victories.

That put it in a position to be considered among the viable support options in 2024, and the Indianapolis Colts added it as a veteran option behind Anthony Richardson in a one -year contract worth $ 4.5 million.

The 2024 season of Flacco saw ups and downs and minimums, with an performance of 359 yards in a defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars among the maximums. Finally, Richardson’s struggles and the belief in Flacco led the Colts to insert the veteran as a holder in week 9.

In the AFC playoffs race at that time, coach Shane Steichen said he believed that Flacco gave the Colts the best opportunity to win. But then the minimums arrived: Flacco, 40, threw four interceptions combined in losses to the Vakings of Minnesota and Buffalo Bills, which led to his bank and the reintegration of Richardson as headline.

The colts were 2-4 with Flacco as a starter last season. It ended with 1,761 aerial yards, 12 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.

Selected in the first round of the 2008 draft by the Baltimore Ravens, Flacco has launched 45,697 yards with 257 touchdowns and 162 interceptions in 17 seasons. He was appointed MVP of the Super Bowl XLVII when he took the Ravens to victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Flacco is one of the three quartback who has a winning record with the Browns from his return, along with Brian Hoyer (10-6) and Case Keenum (2-0).
