Seahawks brings Drew Lock for the second time, Source confirms

Seattle – Substitute field marshal Drew Lock is expected to be firm with the Seahawks for a second period with the team, a source confirmed to ESPN on Friday.

Lock is ready to sign a two -year contract and $ 5 million, a source to Adam Schefter of ESPN told.

Lock, 28, returns to Seattle after spending last season with the New York giants. He spent two seasons before that in Seattle by backing to Geno Smith after being acquired from the Denver Broncos in Russell Wilson’s trade in 2022.

Lock’s return as a possible support for Sam Darnold newly acquired questions Sam Howell’s future with Seahawks. Seattle acquired Howell through the Washington commanders trade in March 2024 after losing the blockade in free agency. Howell fought during the low season and in a disastrous appearance in relief in December.

The Seahawks have also been doing homework in the field of field marshal in this year’s draft. His list of 30 visits includes one with Tyler Shough of Louisville, a source told ESPN, while Bleacher Report reported that they also have a visit aligned with Jalen Milroe from Alabama. Both quarterbacks are among the top five in the position of the great board of Mel Kiper Jr.

Lock was 1-4 in five openings with the giants last season, launching six touchdowns and five interceptions. He also hastened a couple of TouchDowns, since the team won only once in its eight appearances.

The inconsistency of the situation in New York played in some of the struggles. Lock was declared the backup of Daniel Jones at the time he signed. It was the support throughout the summer and during the first 10 games of the season. But when the giants made bench and finally cut Jones, they skipped the lock and went to the third Stringer Tommy Devito with the hope of a spark.

The team jumped from one place to another between Lock and Devito for much of the rest of its 3-14 season. The highlight was the victory of Lock’s 16th week over the Indianapolis Colts, when he had five total touchdowns.

Lock spent his first three seasons with the Broncos after they reduced him in the second round in 2019. He has started 28 games in his six professional seasons and has completed 59.6% of his passes for 6,354 yards with 34 touchdowns and 28 interceptions.

Fox Sports first reported the Seahawks with Lock meeting.

Jordan Raanan de ESPN contributed to this report.
