Stephen Warriors Curry becomes the first NBA player to make 4,000 triples, and 5,000 are within reach

Stephen Curry is already the king of 3 points of the NBA. He broke the 3 -point record of Ray Allen in 2021, and since then he has been putting more distance between him and any other person who tries to chase him. On Thursday night, he reached a milestone that no one has achieved in the history of the NBA when he achieved his triple race in a side passage bridge from the right wing in the third quarter of the 130-104 victory of the Warriors against the Sacramento Kings.

Curry entered two 3 at night to cross the threshold of 4,000, and took a little longer than expected to reach the milestone. Only two players, Curry and James Harden, had even reached 3,000 running careers. Now Curry remains only with 4,000 and counting.

Stephen Curry 4,000
James harden 3,127
Ray Allen 2,973
Damian Lillard 2,794
Klay Thompson 2,667

“It was a special moment, obviously, doing it at home,” Curry said after the game. “The record of 2,974 in New York was great because it was an incredible environment in Madison Square, but to do it in front of my local fans, it was a strange game because I did not get many attempts. I finally did it in the third. I felt the energy. It was special.”

Curry finished with only 11 points in 4 for 9 shots, including 2 of 6 from the range of 3 points. At this point, it remains exactly 4,000 career triples, although that will probably not last long.

This last achievement of Curry comes immediately after him overcoming 25,000 points on March 9making him the 26 player to join the 25K club, and only the tenth player to do so with a single team during his career. At the speed at which Curry puts points, he will surely touch the door of finishing his career in the Top 10 in annotations, and could also reach 5,000 triples when everything is over.

Stephen Curry de Warriors, at the edge of its 4,000 triples, says he wants to play beyond the current contract

Curry, who will turn 37 on Friday, has two years left in his contract that ends in the summer of 2027, and has He expressed interest in playing beyond his current agreement. Then, let’s say that he signs to play another two years, carrying it during the 2028-29 season, at which time he will be 40 years old. That would give Curry four years to reach 5,000 triple career made. The natural regression will surely happen, and the injuries have appeared for Curry in recent years, but it is also one of the best conditioned athletes in the league. You have to be with the whole race for the floor you make to open a 3 -point land.

Since Curry is reaching age, let’s say he averages 60 games in the next four years (he has averaged approximately 63 games per season throughout his career). Using that frame and assuming that I play another four years, I would need to make at least 4.2 triples a game for those 60 games in four years to cross 5,000.

Obviously, this is all this, and it will depend greatly on how healthy the curry will be in the coming years, but it is certainly feasible. And if there is someone who can reach that unknown territory, it would certainly be Curry.

“8,000?” The Warriors coach Steve Kerr replied when asked how many triples Curry could end. “It seems that it was not a long time ago that he broke the record. He simply continues. The way he remains in condition, in pace. He will do another 1,000 safely. That is what I suppose.”
