Acclaimed, the editor behind hundreds of classic games of the 80s and 90s, will be relived.
The company closed in 2004 when it was declared in bankruptcy, but now it will return to support independent developers and “revive the classical franchises” of its IP portfolio.
Acclamar was known in the 90s for the adaptations of family franchise games, from WWF (now WWE) and The Simpsons, to links of films such as Alien 3, Judge Dredd and Batman Forever, to comic games such as Spider-Man and Wolverine.
He also published characters such as the controversial games and thematic parks of Mortal Kombat. Then, at the end of the 90s, it was prolific to publish N64 games such as Turok, Extreme-G, Shadow Man and South Park FPS.
In addition to resuscitating its old franchises, the company will offer funds, marketing and public relations support to Indie Studios.
The recently revived editor has an Advisory Board of Industry Leaders, which includes “Licensing icons, Professional Athletes, Live music legends and seasonal veterans that have defined the intersection of video games and pop culture.” That includes the twice fighter of the Jeff Jarrett Hall.
“For more than three decades, I have had the privilege of having been part of the wrestling universes as a game, and I am delighted to be a partner in the Renaissance of Acclamar, an iconic editor known for launching some of the most legendary games of the 80s and 90s,” said Jarrett.
“From my early participation with the successful 16 -bit WWF titles of the editor to my experience, helping to shape the Wrestling Series TNA, which generated the first video game fighter to become a member of the full -time list in the square circle, I have seen first hand the type of impact that great games and fans can have. Resorting to acceleration is an opportunity to give the same degree of passion and love New generation, and I am excited.
ACCEMACT was originally founded in 1987, publishing a series of NES and game Boy games. However, the sales of their games decreased in the early 2000s, which led to several study closures throughout the United Kingdom. Finally, the company closed in August 2004, closing all its facilities and ending all employees in their Austin and New York studies.
Even so, a series of games franchises first published by ACCLAIM have returned in recent years.
The high-speed Racer Racer balls were added Racer Extreme-G and the Iggy puzzle game to the N64 Nintendo Switch Online catalog last year, which were followed by Turok 2: Seeds of Evil and Shadow Man in the mature application.
Moreover, as reported above, a new Shadow Man game is developing Blowfish Studios together with the comic editor Valiant Entertainment, while knowing Interactive is working on a new Turak game that revealed in The game game Awards last year.
