Players of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 want the Survivor Perk to be removed

One video highlights the impact of the Survivor perk on the match flow, leading some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players to call for its removal.

Players of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have voiced their desire for Activision to either remove the Survivor perk from the game or at the very least, offer ways to mitigate its impact. One of the most significant changes in Modern Warfare 2 is the new perk system, which sets it apart from 2019's Modern Warfare.

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, players can select from four perks, two of which are available at the start of the game and the other two of which are unlocked as the game progresses. Base perks are the ones that are available right away, and players earn bonus and ultimate perks as the game progresses. As to be expected, the ultimate category contains some of Modern Warfare 2's best perks, but some players want to see one of them removed.

A Reddit user named draculadarcula posted a video of a free-for-all match on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's Shoot House map. It depicts the player repeatedly killing opponents, only for the Survivor perk to activate, forcing the player to shoot them again in order to complete the kill. The video emphasizes the impact of the Survivor perk on the flow of the match, with draculadarcula calling for this perk to be removed from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, or for Activision to provide a way to counteract this effect.

Many players appear to agree with draculadarcula, with several stating that it should not be included in Modern Warfare 2. Some fans believe that negating the effects of the Survivor perk with headshots would be a great way to balance it, as users would be rewarded for their accuracy. One user also complains that the person who shoots the downed enemy is rewarded for the kill rather than the gamer who activated Survivor.

On the other hand, some fans argue that Survivor isn't all that useful, especially against skilled opponents. Players who do not want to use this tactic in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have the option of using Ghost or Quick Fix.

When Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2 launches, Activision will make changes to the rate at which perks are earned during matches. Fans will have much easier access to the bonus and ultimate perks during matches, but some players argue that such a perk system should not have been included in Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X
