In a hilarious new video, a Call of Duty: Warzone 2 player ingeniously uses proximity chat to sneak up on an opponent.
The popular shooter Call of Duty: Warzone 2 from Infinity Ward and Raven Software features proximity chat, which one player cleverly used to lure an unwary opponent to their death. Season 2 of the well-known Battle Royale game recently went live, giving players a new map, new gameplay elements, and even a sweet Easter egg that lets them feed the sea lion on Ashika Island.
When Call of Duty: Warzone 2 was released in 2022, it significantly improved the Battle Royale series' gameplay and added a number of new elements on top of its unexpectedly successful 2020 predecessor. While some of these adjustments, like making the Gulag a 2v2 format and lowering the game's TTK, caused some player backlash, other changes, like Warzone 2's human-vs-AI DMZ mode, have been widely praised. Another well-liked addition to the free-to-play game is proximity chat, which not only improves players' battlefield tactical awareness but also inspires some deft and cunning uses of the tool to outplay unwitting rivals.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2's proximity chat has been found by TikTok user p11nkxbl to be not only helpful for increasing battlefield awareness but also to outwit enemies in a truly hilarious way. In a hilarious new video, p11nkxbl is seen putting her brilliant plan into action while standing inside a Warzone 2 building with her fingers on the keyboard and a rifle at the ready. P11nkxbl maintains her focus on a nearby corner while pretending to ask someone in the room for batteries for a dead controller.An enemy sneaks around the corner and is instantly eliminated as the sound of gunfire and laughter erupts after hearing the request in proximity chat and anticipating an easy kill from a console player without a controller.

Although using proximity chat to trick enemies in Warzone 2 is not new, this is undoubtedly one of the funniest and most inventive examples to date. Users who commented on the TikTok appeared to concur; one impressed comment referred to p11nkxbl as a "psyops legend." Other comments appeared to condemn the cunning strategy before quickly adding that they would likely employ it themselves in the future. Other responses confirmed that they too would have been duped by the clever ruse, which was impossible to dispute.
Even though some players might object to using trickery to get a kill, p11nkxbl's hilarious tactic is undeniably effective. And even though the opposing player probably felt a little foolish after the battle, at least they weren't the ones to die in Warzone 2's shortest time ever.
