Nintendo Returns to Gamescom 2023 After Four-Year Absence

Nintendo will make a grand return to Gamescom after a four-year absence, according to an official statement from Koelnmesse and The German Games Industry Association. The statement came after the event's organiser claimed that a "major company" would attend the show.

The organisers of Gamescom 2023 confirmed Nintendo's attendance and added that "Many more exhibitors will follow in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!" However, it's still unclear what Nintendo's presence at the event will consist of, as the company's biggest titles for the year, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Pikmin 4, will have already been released by the time Gamescom takes place in August.

Nintendo last time attended Gamescom in 2019, where it primarily showcased games launching later that year. The company also had numerous booths for consumer attendees to try some of their games.

Nintendo is first major publisher to confirm attendance at Gamescom 2023. Which will take place from August 22 to August 27. According to organisers Koelnmesse and The German Games Industry Association, this year's Gamescom has ten percent more registered companies than it did at this time last year.

Opening Night Live, the kick-off show hosted and produced by Geoff Keighley, will also make a return to Gamescom. Keighley is the producer of The Game Awards, and his pre-show presentation for the German Gamescom expo took place in Cologne as an in-person event last year for the first time since 2019.

Since Nintendo hasn't attended Gamescom in recent years, fans have wondered if the company has lost interest in the convention or has other priorities. But its return shows that the business is aware of Gamescom's expanding significance in the gaming industry. The Gamescom event is now regarded as one of the biggest gaming conventions in the world because it draws millions of visitors and displays the newest games from leading publishers.

What to Expect from Nintendo at Gamescom 2023

The company's major titles already released, fans are left wondering what Nintendo will showcase at Gamescom 2023. One possibility is that the company might reveal new games or updates to existing titles. Nintendo revealing its long-rumored new hardware is another possibility. Whatever its plans are for Gamescom 2023, fans can be sure that Nintendo will put on a fantastic show.

The gaming industry is expected to grow significantly with Nintendo's four-year absence from Gamescom in 2023. It demonstrates that the business recognizes the significance of Gamescom and is dedicated to showcasing its newest products and interacting with fans. Gamescom 2023 is expected to be among the biggest gaming events ever. With brand-new games, surprises, and announcements, fans can expect an even more exciting event.
