I distinctly recall the Disney 16-bit platform game Gargoyles from 1995. Knowing my age in comparison to a true gargoyle, I can confidently claim that I do not. Those highly valuing the game (and the animated film), Disney has confirmed the previously planned remaster will be available on October 19 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

If not someone who cares about Gargoyles, this can be because it was only officially released in North America during its duration. According to Wikipedia, the game's original release strategy called for the Super Nintendo before it was abandoned.

Gargoyles was only ever officially released in North America and arrived on the Sega Genesis (also known as the Mega Drive elsewhere) in the middle of the cartoon's run, so it's possible that you don't have pleasant recollections of it. According to Wikipedia, the well-received game was originally slated for release on Super Nintendo before being canceled.

However, Gargoyles the game is back after 28 years in the form of Gargoyles Remastered from Empty Clip Studios. This version allows players to switch between the game's charming 16-bit graphics from the original and a new art style that is allegedly inspired by the animated series but, in my opinion, does not have the exact same attractiveness.

The recently released update of Gargoyles adds nice quality-of-life features like fast rewind, wide-screen compatibility, and achievements in addition to improved graphics and remixed music. These additions make side-scrolling frolics in Manhattan as protagonist Goliath a little more enjoyable.

On October 19th, Gargoyles Remastered will be available for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (through Steam and GOG) at a price of £12.99/$14.99 USD. If any of these sounds appealing to you, you can purchase it. Limited Run Games is also planning a physical release for platforms.
