Davante Adams does the NFC West Rams favorites?

Los Angeles – less than two weeks ago, the Los Angeles Rams and the Matthew Stafford Marshal were still working through contract negotiations, leaving many questions about how Sean McVay would see in 2025.

The Rams agreed to a tight contract with Stafford last week, then received the attention of the League on Sunday when they reached an agreement with the open receiver Davante Adams in a two -year contract for a value of $ 46 million. Suddenly, the Rams, with a lot of capitalization space to spend on free agency, and the draft still ahead, have established themselves as the favorites in the NFC West. And, after bringing the Eagles to the cable in the toughest game of the Super Bowl of Philadelphia, the angels suddenly looks like an even stronger contender in the NFC.

Within the division, the 49ers must be prepared for the new contract of the Brock Purdy Field Marshal and Breating in DK in DK Metcalf. Arizona cardinals in third place began strongly before fading quickly last season and are still a stranger.

That leaves the Rams in a privileged position to repeat as division champions with an offensive directed by Stafford, the Kyren Williams corridor and the open receptors Puka Nacua and Adams. Los Angeles already informed the Open Receiver of Cooper Kupp of his intention to exchange it, and although the general manager Les Snead said last week that the “less likely” scenario was that Kupp would return to the list in 2025, the addition of ADAMS is even more cement.

Before the start of the window in which the Rams can negotiate with pending free agents, they not only added Adams but also signed the left Tackle Alaric Jackson for a three -year contract and the open receiver Tutu Atwell to a one -year contract.

The Rams, who won the NFC West in 2024, also return most of their young defense, a group that took great steps during the season under the defensive coordinator Chris Shula.

The defense, without the future defensive Tackle of the Aaron Donald Hall, was largely built in the last two drafts. Before the addition of Adams, Over The Cap had the Rams with $ 45 million in capitalization space, and that includes the capitalization coup of almost $ 30 million of KUPP in 2025. Nor does the tight contract of Stafford take into account.

Adams has been a constant taxpayer during its 11 seasons of the NFL, and its 103 touchdowns receivers are the tenth in the history of the NFL. According to ESPN Research, Adams has registered 1,000 reception yards in five consecutive seasons, which is tied on the second longest active streak in the NFL.

The veteran receiver has also been very successful in the red zone, something with which the Rams fought last season. According to ESPN Research, the Rams occupied the 25th place in the percentage of Touchdown in the red zone last season. In the last five seasons, Adams has caught 40 touchdowns from the red zone, which is five more than any other player.

At the end of January, days after the Rams lost to the Eagles in the playoffs, McVay was asked how he wanted his offensive to be seen next season. The “most important,” he said, was “a little more versatility.” McVay pointed out the lack of continuity that the Rams offensive had last season due to injuries, but said: “We can’t allow that to inhibit us the way he did.”

“I could follow and continue on the variety of things that I am excited to attack to avoid some of the traps we had throughout the year to finally lead to a more consistent production and game, regardless of the situation of our injury,” McVay said.

While signing Adams is not the only necessary response to have a more consisting offensive in 2025, addition is a strong start before the start of the new year of the League on Wednesday.
