The corner of the Minnesota Vikings, Byron Murphy Jr., returns in a three -year agreement and $ 66 million, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN on Monday.
The Vikings announced the agreement but did not reveal terms.
Murphy had a second chance in the free agency market at age 27 for a series of factors. The Arizona cardinals made him a second round draft team in 2019 three months after his 21st birthday and his rookie contract expired when he was 25 years old.
He opted for a short -term agreement with the Vikings during the low season of 2023, receiving a total of $ 17.5 million for the next two seasons.
He chose to extend that agreement last summer and went on to have a professional year that included six interceptions, 81 cups and his first Pro Bowl selection. Along the way, it provided stability for a secondary school that the Vikings had to rebuild in real time during the training camp after the death of the rookie corner Khyree Jackson and a torn acl for the second year corner Mekhi Blackmon.
Murphy is the most appropriate to play inside as a nickel corner, but has raised her skills enough to play outside when opponents display only two receptors.
In 87 games for six seasons, Murphy has registered 14 interceptions, recovered 6 loose balls and forced another 3.
