Ireland has filed plans to organize a multiformate series against Afghanistan this year for “financial reasons” on a busy summer agenda that includes historical tours of T20i women in England and the women of Zimbabwe.
cricket Ireland launched its international matches on Tuesday, including the World Cup classification matches of 50 women against Pakistan, Western Indies, Bangladesh, Thailand and Scotland between April 9 and 18.
He also listed the heating games for the women of Ireland against the Western and Bangladesh Indies in Pakistan on April 5 and 7, respectively, before his attempt to reach the tournament for the first time since 2005, although the CPI has not yet confirmed the dates and places for the qualifiers.
The men of Ireland will receive the Western Indies in the ODI and T20I series in May and June, respectively, while the men of England will play their first T20I series in Ireland in September, which includes three games.
“A planned series that will not continue for financial reasons is against Afghanistan,” said Deurrom. “This decision is part of our management of budget limitations in the short term, as well as our requirement to meet the Board’s mandate to offer balanced investments in the strategic objectives of the organization.”
Ireland has only organized two of the 10 tests they have played since they became members of the ICC in 2017. They secured their inaugural victory in the format against Afghanistan in the EAU in 2024, then they won two more evidence against Zimbabwe, at home last year and was last month.
Ireland organized a series of “home” against South Africa in Abu Dhabi last year in an attempt to overcome what Deurrom described at that time as “current infrastructure limitations” given the lack of a permanent domestic stage and the high cost of temporary infrastructure.
“Outside the field, the recent program for government ads will allow us to continue our planning for the new Dublin stadium and for the 2030 T20 World Cup, while we hope to announce infrastructure and facilities investments in Ireland as part of our expanded club fund,” said Deurrom.
The Ireland wolves will play Afghanistan in four -day and one day matches in Abu Dhabi next month as part of a tour that includes a series of Tri of the White Ball that also involves Sri Lanka A.
Ireland men will also play in Europe T20 Premier League with Scotland and the Netherlands since mid -July.
Zimbabwe’s women will visit Ireland in July, their first tour since the FTP of women was added by 2025-29. Three T20is will play followed by two hate.
The women of Pakistan will travel to Ireland in August for three T20 before the World Cup T20 qualifier in Europe in the Netherlands, where the women of Ireland are competing.
