The giant website and video output is experiencing a ‘strategic restart’, according to the owner Fandom Inc., after several employees publicly revealed that they are no longer working for the brand.
Signs of disagreements behind the scene emerged earlier this week, after an episode of The Giant Bombcast was withdrawn that apparently presented the hosts mocking a series of new content guidelines of their managers.
Yesterday, on May 1, producer and presenter Jeff Grubb announced in Bluesky that he is no longer with a giant bomb. “Well, that was a dream come true. However, I knew it would not last. However, outside a job at this time.”
Mike Minotti, a Gamesbeat giant bomb collaborator, shared that he no longer participates in the Bluesky program. “Needless to say, I will no longer contribute to the giant bomb. Nothing but loving all the wonderful people there and Gamespot.
“Jeff was a battle horse and a hero for the way he assumed so much responsibility there, and I am furious with the way the executives treated him.”
The creative director Dan Ryckert revealed in a recent live broadcast that will no longer participate in the Giant Bombcast, according to a Kotaku report.
“We understand your frustration and appreciate your patience: we are actively exploring the creative directions for the future of GB and we hope to share more with you soon,” I read a shared message in the Giant Bomb Bluesky account.
Fandom, Inc. prepared Kotaku in a statement. “We understand that this programming pause is not ideal for our audience, but it is part of a strategic restart and realignment of our media brands.
“We have some creative ideas for the future of the giant bomb in which we are actively working on which we can communicate sooner.”
Fandom, INC bought Giant Bomb and Gamespot from Red Ventures in October 2022.
