The next Pokémon trade card game based on black and white Pokémon will be a special set as Pokémon Prismatic Evolutions.
The set will celebrate the Unova region, which debuted for the first time in Pokémon Black and Pokémon White, launched for Nintendo DS in 2010. The set will include all 156 of the Pokémon originally found in the Unova region to celebrate 15 years since the games were launched.
The set will be released in Japanese as Black Bolt and White Flare on July 18, and the English set is expected to continue later in the year. Now it has been suggested that the set will be a special set, which means that it will not be sold in reinforcement packages or reinforcement boxes in traditional retailers.
As reported by Pokébeach, the set will include two different boxes of Pokémon Elite coaches, one with Reshiram and another with Zekrom. There is a precedent with multiple elite trainers boxes that are launched for sets, with the last dual launch in the temporary forces of 2024.
According to the report, the product line is similar to that of Pokémon’s prismatic evolutions, the most recent special set. That line included the Elite coach box, the poster collection, the Binder collection, Mini Tins, technological label packages, premium collection boxes and reinforcement packages.
The next Pokémon TCG set, destined rivals, will be launched on May 30.
Earlier this month, the Pokémon company issued a statement that addresses multiple fans reports that commercial cards have been difficult to find.
“We are aware that some fans are experiencing difficulties to buy certain Pokémon Card game (TCG) products due to a very high demand that impacts availability,” says the statement.
“We understand that this inconvenience can be disappointing for fans, and we are actively working to print more of the Pokémon TCG products impacted as quickly as possible and with the maximum capacity to recognize this. It is expected that the reprints are available in the retailers participating as soon as possible.”
