The series will mark Bracewell’s second series as Captain in New Zealand, after having led the team during the Pakistan tour in April 2024.
“Mitch Santner has done a great job since he assumed the position of Captain of the White Ball and I will really just try to take advantage of his good job and create a pleasant environment for the boys to work,” Bracewell said in a NZC statement. “Pakistan is always a dangerous side shortly with a lot of power and rhythm and we know they will hurt after an early exit in the Champions Trophy.”
“We are certainly beginning to reduce our views in the ICC T20 World Cup in India next February and March,” said selector Sam Wells. “Half of this team only returns from the Champions Trophy on Wednesday, so we will need to manage those players very carefully.
“The Pakistan series will provide an opportunity for all players to set their best foot and promote their case for the selection in the 15 players for the main global tournament next year.”
Each series of the five -game series will be played as a double header with women in New Zealand against Sri Lanka and Australia the same day in the same place.
