The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences has announced that it will induce the founder of Insomniac Games and outgoing CEO Ted Price in his Hall of Fame in the Awards says next month.
Earlier this week, Price announced that it would resign as CEO after three decades in the study. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider and Jen Huang will take their place as cooscoso chiefs after their departure in March.
“Ted has guided the Insomniac Games already our industry with character and class for more than 30 years,” said Schneider.
“He embodies Insomniac’s vision of having a positive and lasting impact on people’s lives, inspiring countless employees, partners and players in a truly remarkable legacy.”
The president of AIAS, Meggan Scavio, added: “Since the humble beginnings of insomniac games as an independent study to its ascent as a powerful PlayStation study, TED has left an indelible brand in our industry.
“His legacy covers a wallet of loved ones and acclaimed by critics, a study that has it in the highest consideration and a deep impact on the academy itself.”
Price founded Insomniac Games in 1994, and supervised the creation of franchises, including Spyro The Dragon, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance: Fall of Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man.
It also contributed to Insomniac charitable companies, serving as executive sponsor of the Sony Interactive Entertainment Global Fund.
The 28th Annual Awards says takes place together with the conference on February 13 at Aria Resort in Las Vegas.
