Terrion Arnold honor the late Khyree Jackson with switch al No. 6

Jackson, who at that time was a rookie corner for the Minnesota Vikings, died on July 6 of last year after a three -car accident in Prince George County, Maryland, who also killed two of his high school soccer teammates. A driver involved in the accident was accused of 13 positions, including DUI and criminally negligent vehicular homicide.

Arnold, 22, also briefly used No. 6 at the John Paul II Catholic High School in Tallahassee, Florida, where he played open receiver and security, but will return to the number in the NFL for a larger message.

“We all know what happened to my friend Khyree and we feel that he only to be able to honor his legacy and then the impact he even had on me,” Arnold told the “Podcast New Wave” with Ryan Williams and Jaylen Mbakwe. “Simply come here and then just be able to play with someone … Khyree when he appeared here, it was really as dead moments when it came to football.

“The guy was a competitor, the best competitor and is a kind of additional motivation when you look down and you say: ‘Dang man, I had that 6 and my brother living through me at the same time,'” he said.

After the death of Jackson, the security of Williams and the Lions Brian Branch, another former Alabama star, both lost practice of the training camp to attend the funeral service of Jackson on July 26 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Branch described the moment as bigger than football while Jackson’s legacy continues to live through his teammates.

“It is as if they had those sayings in which football is bigger than you, so you only look at him how to talk to his little brother. He can look at the screen and look in the camera and say: ‘He carries the number 6 for my older brother,” Arnold told the podcast.

“That is incredible and then just being able to talk to his family, talk to his father or mother and let them know: ‘At the end of the day, Terrion has not forgotten Khyree.”

Arnold was not the only lion player to change his uniform number this low season. The Jahmyr Gibbs corridor changed from No. 26 to NO.
