The Resident Evil 4 Remake Trial Version Is Available Right Now

Many fans have been waiting for the special Resident Evil 4 remake demo, known as the "Chainsaw Demo," which is now playable on all platforms.

A demo called "Chainsaw Demo" for the Resident Evil 4 remake has just been released, giving players a taste of the remade survival horror experience. Players have been curious about whether the Resident Evil 4 experience they remember from years ago will still be the same ever since the game was first announced, but there have only been videos to show what the game would be like. Many people eagerly awaited the news of the release of the "Special Demo" since the last showing of the Resident Evil 4 remake hinted at its arrival. They won't have to wait any longer, thank goodness.

Capcom has a reputation for releasing demos for previous Resident Evil games. The most well-known of its demos was a teaser called "Beginning Hour" for Resident Evil 7, a demo that would alter as the game's release date approached. But as time went on and Capcom released demos for the series' subsequent games, it only made them accessible for a brief period of time and even imposed strict time restrictions on gameplay. Fans did not like this practice, and some even tried to find a way to restart the Resident Evil Village PC demo. Following the backlash, Capcom abandoned this strategy for the subsequent demos, which included the Monster Hunter Stories 2 demo.

A demo for the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake was made available for all platforms during the most recent Capcom Spotlight. The "Chainsaw Demo" demo appears to include several scenes that many Resident Evil 4 players are familiar with, including the battle in the main village where Leon Kennedy first encounters the chainsaw man enemy. The demo's announcement video also showcases some of the more recent mechanics that players can use, like the previously mentioned knife parries.

The demo will not have a time limit, allowing players to play it as many times as they'd like, according to the trailer, which also announces this information. Additionally, there is no indication of how long players will be able to access the demo. As a result, it appears that, unlike the Resident Evil Village demos, which had set times for availability, this demo will at least be accessible until the game's release.

Even though Capcom already released a mini-prequel game for the Resident Evil 4 remake in the form of an ARG, this demo is certain to give players a chance to see what's new and what's improved in the remake of the critically acclaimed survival horror game before it launches.

Resident Evil 4 releases on March 24 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
