Destiny 2’s The Final Shape Expansion Reveal

Bungie has released the reveal trailer for The Final Shape expansion for Destiny 2.

The Final Shape, which is scheduled for release on February 27, 2024, will wrap up the Light and Darkness saga, which has been developing ever since the first expansion to the original game.

"The Final Shape looms—a nightmarish calcification of reality into the Witness's twisted design," according to the description accompanying the reveal trailer, which can be seen below. "The Final Shape," is set to hit screens on February 27, 2024.

"Set out on a perilous journey into the Traveler's heart, rally the Vanguard, and put an end to the War of Light and Darkness."

Bungie also revealed plans to switch the game's current seasonal structure to an episodic one during a Destiny 2 showcase on Tuesday.

Guardians, there's more! Bungie's not just hitting us with a new expansion; they're flipping the script on how we play the game. Say goodbye to the old seasonal structure, and say hello to a fresh episodic format. No more four seasons a year – now we're getting three meaty episodes instead. And guess what? The first three episodes of the year – Echoes, Revenant, and Heresy – are all about dealing with the aftermath of "The Final Shape." Robbie Stevens, the assistant game director, spilled the beans on this big change, saying it's all about shaking things up and diving into the consequences of the expansion's events.

Following the 1990s release of three Marathon games, the company went on to create other series like Halo and Destiny.

In May, Bungie announced that it is creating a new Marathon game. Bungie was purchased by Sony last year for $3.6 billion. Now they're cooking up a brand-new sci-fi PvP extraction shooter. And guess what? It's not just for one platform – it's gonna be on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with cross-play and cross-save features.
