The character and plot of Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty have been revealed.
On Thursday, the videos listed below debuted during CD Projekt's latest Night City Wire livestream.
Idris Elba will play a spy named Solomon Reed in the upcoming Phantom Liberty expansion. In the cinematic trailer, you can see him in action, and in the behind-the-scenes video, you can learn more about the character from Elba.
According to the studio, the September 26 release of the $30 / £25 expansion will completely change how Cyberpunk 2077 is played. In a June interview, creative director Pawel Sasko and quest designer Despoina Anetaki said "all of the core main systems" of the game had been "redone or updated significantly."
During Gamescom Opening Night Live last month, gameplay designer Yulia Pryimak demonstrated some of these new features, including vehicle combat.
Some of the new features introduced in Phantom Liberty will also be added to the base game as part of Update 2.0, hich will be available for current-generation consoles and PCs. During today's Night City Wire presentation, it was confirmed that Update 2.0 will be released on September 21.
Last month, CD Projekt stated that the decision to only release a single expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 was a technological one due to the company's shift to Unreal Engine development.
