Metal Gear Solid Master Collection will allow players to create save data for MGS1 from other PS1 games

Players can create and save data from other PS1 games and use it in Metal Gear Solid 1 thanks to the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection.

Metal Gear Solid 1 had a feature where Psycho Mantis would read save data from the PS1 memory card and certain saves from other Konami games would cause him to say certain things.

Psycho Mantis' dialogue options were expanded in the Japanese version of MGS1, where certain save game combinations from specific Konami games would cause him to say more precise things. In comparison to the original Japanese version of the game, Metal Gear Solid Integral had a modified/updated list of games Psycho Mantis could detect. This was a re-release of the game with some new features.

Konami has not only reintroduced this feature in Vol. 1 of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, but it has gone one step further by allowing players to create dummy save data for games that resulted in a unique dialogue from Psycho Mantis in the original.

This lists all Konami titles that have yet to be released on the PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch. Meanwhile, the Japanese edition of Master Collection Vol. 1 will allow users to create and save data for Policenauts, Snatcher, and other games.

The Metal Gear Solid Master Collection is an extensive collection recognizing the 35th anniversary of the franchise. This collection will allow fans to play the games precisely as they were when they were first published, optimized for the current platforms. The Master Collection is set to be released on October 24, 2023.

According to the PlayStation Store website Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection, is the first volume in a series of collections. A second volume with Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is probably in Konami's plans.
