A ransomware team has begun trying to sell Sony data after claiming to have hacked the company.
Cyber Security Connect reported the hack earlier today.
Ransomed.vc, the hacking community, claimed to have "successfully hacked all of Sony systems." The team stated, "We won't ransom them!" and stated that it was now selling the data "due to Sony not wanting to pay [sic]".

The Ransomed.vc proof-of-hack data has been described as "not particularly compelling information" by Cyber Security Connect. Screenshots of a presentation inside the company, an internal login page, and some Java files make up the proof. The group also published a file tree of the stolen data, which appears to contain less than 6000 files, mostly HTML and more Java files.
Sony was reportedly hacked in 2011 when the private data of 77 million PlayStation Network users was exposed. As Sony improved its security, PSN was shut down for nearly a month.
Sony has not responded to this report, and we will update if we find any new information.
