Square Enix has officially announced the development of a PC version of Final Fantasy 16, as well as two pieces of paid DLC.

Square Enix promised to provide more information on its plans for Final Fantasy 16 for PC before the year's end.

The information was provided by Naoki Yoshida, the producer of Final Fantasy XVI, during a panel discussion at PAX West on Saturday. He also mentioned that the PlayStation 5 version has received a significant update. It's been a little over two months since the release of Final Fantasy XVI, and we've received an enormous amount of feedback from players all over the world," Yoshida said in a pre-recorded video.

"The development team and I have been watching your videos and streams as well, paying close attention to what everyone thinks of Final Fantasy XVI." We put everything into making this game, so seeing so many different reactions is a real treat. "As a token of our heartfelt gratitude, we are making a free update available for download right now."

Below, you'll find a link to the complete patch notes for the most recent update. Yoshida highlighted the addition of new controller layouts, a weapon skin feature that allows players to change the appearance of Clive's weapon, and alternate outfits for Clive, Jill, Torgal, Ambrosia, and Joshua.

"As I mentioned earlier, we've seen so many opinions and reactions from our community of Final Fantasy XVI players," Yoshida continued. "However, one recurring theme was people's desire to learn more about Valisthea and spend more time with her inhabitants."

"To accommodate, the development team has begun work on two paid DLC installments."

"Finally, while Final Fantasy XVI was released exclusively for the PlayStation 5, we are aware that many of you have requested a PC version." So, please allow me to take this opportunity to officially announce that work on a PC version is currently in progress.

Despite the fact that Final Fantasy XVI was a PlayStation 5 exclusive, we are aware that many of you have been requesting a PC version. So, please allow me to take this opportunity to officially announce that work on a PC version is currently in progress.

"Please stay tuned, as I hope to be able to provide you with more details on both the DLC and the PC version before the end of this year.

Square Enix promised that Final Fantasy 16 would only be available on Sony's console for the remainder of the year when it launched for the PS5 in June.

Yoshida stated prior to the game's release that he would like to see a PC version of the game released "eventually."

He told the Japanese PlayStation Blog, "First of all, it is true that Final Fantasy 16 is a six-month limited-time exclusive on the PS5 platform. "However, the PC version will be released in half a year, which is a completely different story." I'll be clear: the PC version will not be available for another six months.

We invested a lot of time and money into optimizing the PS5 platform to provide the best gaming experience, which is why. Naturally, I would like to eventually release a PC version so that everybody can play as many games as they want.
