Starfield is the fifth best-selling game

Starfield is the fifth fastest-selling game in Europe this year.

According to GSD data published on GamesIndustry.biz, the game is "just about" the most popular Xbox launch for the current generation in Europe, before Forza Horizon 5.

Starfield's achievement has only been surpassed in terms of launch week sales by Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo 4, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Because of how its sales reflect its Early Access release, the information is not actually comparable. Those who pre-ordered the Premium Edition or Constellation Edition of Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG started playing on Sept. 1, ahead of the game’s Sept. 6 launch date on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

In addition, the data ignores the number of Game Pass subscribers who played Starfield. On both console and PC, Microsoft’s subscription service launched day and date with the standard release of Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG.

Microsoft's record for the biggest launch day for an Xbox Game Studios title appears to have been broken by Starfield.

According to the platform owner, more than six million users—including more than one million active players at once—had played the game by the end of its first official day of release.

The Xbox Series X/S consoles' two best sales weeks of the year in the UK were aided by its release as well.

Bethesda recently released the initial update for Starfield and announced plans for new features to be included in future patches.
